Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows \nBuild and optimise cloud-based data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) \nDesign and maintain data models and data processing workflows \nIntegrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources \nDevelop batch and real-time data processing solutions \nEnsure high levels of data quality, reliability, availability, and performance \nMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipelines and production workloads \nImplement automated testing and data validation processes \nContribute to data architecture and technical design decisions \nSupport data warehouse and data lake solutions \nApply data security, governance, and access-control best practices \nContribute to CI/CD and automation practices for data solutions \nCollaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects, and other engineering teams \nMentor less experienced engineers and contribute to data engineering best practices\nRequirements\nSenior-level professional experience in Data Engineering \n Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - mandatory \nStrong programming skills in Python and/or Java \nStrong experience with SQL \nExperience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines \nExperience with cloud-based data warehouses, data lakes, and large-scale data processing \nExperience with data modelling and database design \nExperience working with both structured and unstructured datasets \nUnderstanding of batch and real-time/streaming data processing \nExperience with orchestration and data workflow management \nFamiliarity with Apache Spark or similar distributed data-processing technologies \nExperience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies \nUnderstanding of data quality, data governance, security, and access-control principles \nExperience with Git, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills \nAbility to work independently and take ownership of complex technical solutions \nStrong communication and collaboration skills \nNice to Have\nExperience with Apache Airflow \nExperience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform \nExperience with Docker and Kubernetes \nExperience building data solutions supporting BI, analytics, or Machine Learning \nExperience with data governance and metadata management \nExperience with monitoring and observability of production data pipelines \nExperience working within large-scale enterprise data
