The company is backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, with customers across the U.S. government and commercial space industry.\nPosition Overview:\nWe are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist II to support the evening shift by helping develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs used to machine components and tooling. The ideal candidate has experience with CNC machining processes and a strong commitment to producing high-quality, precise, and repeatable results.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSet up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with live tooling.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.\nSelect, install, and maintain tooling, fixtures, and workholding.\nPerform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.\nMonitor machining runs and ensure parts meet print specifications.\nTroubleshoot machining and programming issues; recommend process improvements.\nCollaborate closely with programmers to maintain efficient workflows.\nHelp maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.\nRequired Qualifications:\nTypically 2+ years of CNC set-up experience with 5-axis mills and CNC lathes.\nFamiliarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, TNC-7, and Haas.\nProven ability to hold tight tolerances up to 0.0001.\nProficient in reading/interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.\nSkilled with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).\nExperience machining aerospace alloys (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, etc.).\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nTeam-oriented, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and grow.\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret security clearance.\nDesired Qualifications:\nTypically 3+ years of experience working with 3-axis and 5-axis machines.\nExperience post-machining of additively manufactured components.\nExperience machining aluminum, titanium and nickel alloys.\nOur office headquarters is located in Playa Vista, CA. This position requires in office presence.\nThe California hourly rate for this role is currently $30.00 - $37.00. Pay Grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
