The simulation team is responsible for ensuring that flight software and flight hardware can be continuously integrated and tested under realistic flight conditions. You will play a key role in the design and implementation of infrastructure-agnostic platforms and self-service tools that will enable fast, repeatable development and deployment workflows across the engineering stack. Your work will empower Inversion’s engineering teams to iterate rapidly throughout the development life cycle and will strengthen Inversion’s ability to put our products into the hands of our customers with unprecedented speed and agility.\nWhat You'll Do\nProvision, deploy, and maintain infrastructure to support simulation workflows, including high-performance computing (HPC), software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing\nLeverage infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to enable scalability and resource optimization\nLeverage automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) to manage infrastructure efficiently\nLeverage containerization and orchestration to enable modern, scalable, and resilient application deployments\nWork closely with developers/engineers to design, implement, and manage continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to improve iteration speed and flight system reliability\nConfigure network hardware, manage cloud resources, and ensure network security and performance\nContribute to the design and development of a simulation system capable of automatically provisioning and deploying resources to support simulation workflows\nRequired Qualifications\nCandidates must meet all of the following qualifications to be considered for this role:\n5+ years of professional experience in platform, DevOps, infrastructure, or software engineering\nExpertise in DevOps best practices\nProficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, Lua, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)\nExperience with Linux-based systems\nExperience with one or more CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)\nExperience with containerization (Docker/Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes)\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret security clearance. \nThe ideal candidate will also meet one or more of the following qualifications:\nExpertise in IaaS (AWS and GCP)\nExpertise in IaC (Terraform)\nExpertise in database administration and network administration\nFamiliarity with system observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with embedded systems\nExperience with SIL, HIL, or robotics testbeds\nFamiliarity with Linux-based real-time systems\nFamiliarity with cloud-based/distributed HPC\nOur office headquarters is located in Playa Vista, CA. This position requires in office presence.\nThe California annual base salary for this role is currently $139,000 - $201,000. Pay Grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
