As the nation’s premier home leasing company, we need dedicated, organized, and detail-oriented accounting professionals to provide timely and accurate financial information to our partners in the field and at our corporate offices as well as to our shareholders.\nThe ideal candidate for our SEC Reporting Manager position has experience in both external and internal financial reporting, possesses an innate desire for continuous innovation, mentors staff level analyst, and thrives in a collaborative environment that involves effective communication with our business partners across the organization.\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities\nReview and assist with preparation of the 10-K and 10-Q (and other SEC filings), including financial statements, financial statement footnotes and MD&A focusing on accuracy and completeness (including use of disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations), and maintain the external reporting calendar.\nCollaborate with business partners in other functional groups, including senior leaders, to obtain the information necessary to draft footnotes and other disclosures in the 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings as well as other financial statements for subsidiary entities.\nWork closely with investor relations on all external reporting, earnings calls, and investor relations materials.\nCoordinate with the Company’s external auditors and help manage the quarterly review and year-end audit processes.\nAssist with technical accounting research, using analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply judgment to complex accounting and reporting matters and accurately reflect conclusions in financial statements and disclosures.\nPerform and review periodic financial reports, monthly management reports, and ad hoc reports for internal purposes and debt compliance.\nManage user access and permissions, data management, and actual SEC filing through Workiva.\nEnsure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley for all financial reporting controls.\nActively supervise, coach, and develop SEC reporting analyst.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEducation and/or Experience\nBachelor’s degree or higher in accounting.\nMaster’s degree preferred.\n5-7 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or financial reporting.\nReal estate industry experience a plus.\nMust be able to produce high-quality work as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team.\nExperience with GAAP and SEC related research and application of pronouncements and regulations.\nRequired Licenses or Certifications\nActive CPA license required.\nSkills/Specialized Knowledge\nHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detail.\nStrong knowledge of Excel required.\nUse of SEC reporting software highly preferred (e.g. Workiva).\nMust have excellent interpersonal skills.\nMust be resourceful, strategic and possess excellent analytical abilities.\nShould be an energetic, self-starter capable of self-direction.\nShould be driven to deliver quality results on time, with a high degree of integrity and in a highly ethical and professional manner.\nShould be self-reliant and have strong initiative as well as possess solid business judgment.\nEffective time management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.\nOther Requirements:\nHybrid work schedule (3-4 days per week required in office).\nundefinedPhysical and Mental Demands: This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
