Responsibilities :\n\n- Lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.\n\n- Own backend architecture and make sound technical decisions around relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance considerations.\n\n- Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.\n\n- Develop effective caching solutions using Redis, including cache-aside, TTL, and cache invalidation strategies.\n\n- Work with Elasticsearch and MongoDB where appropriate for production use cases.\n\n- Apply resilience patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Bulkhead, Retry, Timeout, and Rate Limiting.\n\n- Lead complex debugging and troubleshooting efforts across production backend systems.\n\n- Identify performance bottlenecks and drive improvements in application performance and scalability.\n\n- Establish and promote backend engineering best practices around code quality, testing, code reviews, API design, and maintainability.\n\n- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and raise the overall engineering quality of the team.\n\n- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, architects, and other technical stakeholders.\n\n- Participate in architecture reviews, technical planning, and engineering roadmap discussions.\n\n- Contribute to production readiness, observability, reliability, and operational best practices in partnership with platform/SRE teams.\n\n- Participate in and lead engineering interviews and hiring processes.\n\nRequired Qualifications :\n\n- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n- 7+ years of professional experience building and maintaining backend systems in production.\n\n- Strong proficiency in Java with extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot.\n\n- Strong experience designing and building microservices-based architectures.\n\n- Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, and backend problem-solving.\n\n- Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases in high-scale production systems.\n\n- Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.\n\n- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.\n\n- Strong understanding of asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.\n\n- Experience designing and implementing systems using Redis caching, including cache-aside, TTL, and cache invalidation patterns.\n\n- Production experience with Elasticsearch and MongoDB.\n\n- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability strategies.\n\n- Experience implementing resilience patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Retry, Bulkhead, and Rate Limiting.\n\n- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, particularly in live production environments.\n\n- Strong understanding of software engineering practices including unit/integration testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and release processes.\n\n- Strong communication and collaboration skills.\n\n- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers
