This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on DBA with strong leadership capability and deep expertise in SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and IBM Informix.\nWhat you'll do:\nAdminister, monitor, optimize, and support SQL Server, Azure, and Informix database environments.\nManage database availability, performance, security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.\nLead database cloud migration and modernization initiatives.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in production environments.\nImplement and maintain high-availability solutions and database monitoring.\nDrive database best practices, governance, and security standards.\nMentor and support junior DBAs and act as a senior escalation point for database-related incidents.\nYour Expertise:\n7+ years' DBA experience, with at least 3 years in a senior-level role.\nStrong administration experience with:\nMicrosoft SQL Server\nMicrosoft Azure SQL Services (Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, Azure VMs)\nIBM Informix\nExperience managing on-premise, hybrid, and cloud database environments.\nStrong skills in performance tuning, security, backup & recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.\nExperience with T-SQL and database automation/scripting.\nProven ability to mentor junior team members and lead technical initiatives.\n Qualifications:\nRelevant Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field - non negotiable\nRelevant Microsoft Azure Certification (e.g. AZ-104, AZ-305, DP-300) - non negotiable\nMicrosoft SQL Server certification - non negotiable\nAdvantageous Skills\nAWS database administration exposure.\nExperience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Db2, or NoSQL databases.\nAzure DevOps, Terraform, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.\nExposure to data platforms such as SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Azure Data Factory, or Data Warehousing.\nOther information applicable to the opportunity:\n\nPermanent position\nLocation: Pretoria\nWhy work for us?\nWant to work for an organization that solves complex real-world problems with innovative software solutions?
