Together, the team is responsible for delivering high-quality hardware and software installations, commissioning, and technical support at both new and existing customer facilities \nWhat you'll do:\nWork as a coordinated two-man unit to perform installation, configuration, and testing of all relevant hardware and software systems.\nProvide on-site technical support to customers, ensuring stable operation of newly installed and existing systems.\nEnsure all installation activities meet OEM, Site, Customer, and SBT standards.\nMaintain a professional presence at customer sites and uphold all SHER and company compliance requirements.\nSupport the broader technical team by assisting Senior Technicians, Team Leaders, and Project Managers where required.\nCore Technical ActivitiesPerform hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance on all relevant systems and equipment, in line with applicable standards (OEM, Site, Customer, and SBT).\nConduct quality inspections during and after installation to ensure compliance and operational readiness.\nResolve basic hardware-related service calls for existing customers where applicable.\nRequest guidance or support when needed to avoid rework and ensure correct first-time execution.\n\nStock, Materials & DocumentationPrepare all required stock, tools, and consumables prior to installation.\nEnsure all stock and consumables are correctly booked to the relevant project or service call.\nAllocate correct stock numbers to projects/calls to support accurate and timely invoicing.\nEnsure faulty customer equipment is booked in for repairs and removed from loan accounts or project allocations.\nComplete and update handover documentation for customer-to-customer contracts and stock usage.\n\nReporting & AdministrationObtain the necessary delivery notes or acceptance certificates upon completion of installations.\nUpdate all relevant systems daily with accurate information relating to work completed.\nProvide daily feedback to the Technical Team Leader or Project Manager on progress, issues, and next steps.\nCompile reports when required for project, service, or operational purposes.\nComplete timesheets, documentation, and reporting\nSubmit weekly timesheets and vehicle log sheets as per company requirements.\n\nCollaboration & SupportProvide assistance to Support Technicians, Senior Technicians, Technical Team Leaders, and Project Managers as needed.\nWork collaboratively with the broader technical team to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.\n\nCompliance & SafetyAdhere to all SHER requirements, ensuring safe working practices and professional appearance on site.\nFollow all Group Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines (PSPGs)\nEnsure installation timelines and standards are met to deliver within the quoted project timeframe.\n\nYour Expertise:\n\nAt least 2 years of function-related technical experience within the relevant discipline (CCTV, Access Control, Time & Attendance, Fire Systems, or related electronic security fields).\nDemonstrated experience in hardware and software installation, commissioning, and basic fault-finding.\nPractical exposure to customer-site work, including adherence to safety, compliance, and documentation standards.\nExperience working as part of a technical field team (Technician + Assistant Technician) is advantageous.\n Qualifications:Minimum QualificationsGrade 12 (Matric) or equivalent College Diploma\nPSIRA Certification (appropriate grade for the role)\n\nPreferred Qualifications:Relevant technical courses and practical experience\nCCTV Systems (installation, configuration, fault-finding)\nAccess Control Systems (hardware, controllers, readers, software)\nFire Systems / SAQCC Certification\nTime & Attendance Systems\nCabling Competency (RS485, RS422, RS232, Wiegand, OSDP, UTP, fibre, coax, terminations, standards)\n\nOther information applicable to the opportunity:\nPermanent position\nLocation: Johannesburg\nWhy work for us?\nWant to work for an organization that solves complex real-world problems with innovative software solutions?
