Supervision is provided through live observation, face-to-face contact, or visual/audio technology-assisted means” (AAMFT Approved Supervision Designation: Standards Handbook, 2016).\nPosition Overview:\nThe Iona University Marriage and Family Therapy Program is seeking Clinical Supervisors for students enrolled in the Iona Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s program. The Supervisor will work with supervisees for the Fall 2025 semester, and renewal appointments are available for Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 semesters. Clinical Supervision will occur both in-person at the Iona Family Therapy Center (IFTC) and virtually on Iona’s Zoom Platform. The responsibilities are as follows:\nClinical Supervisor Responsibilities:\nLead weekly dyadic and group supervision courses with student therapists.\nConduct weekly supervision with student therapists in person at IFTC and/or via live Zoom session observations\nCoordinate with student therapists to attend live observations as a team in person (One-way mirror) and/or via Zoom platform. \nOversee and review students’ clinical work via case or audio/video as needed\nMaintain regular contact with the Clinical Director regarding students’ clinical work\nAttend faculty meeting once a month with the MFT faculty members (remote option)\nMeet once a month with the Program Director and Clinical Director (remote option)\nEnsure student therapists comply with AAMFT code of ethic and New York State licensure requirements as well as New Jersey and Connecticut, applicable. \nEnsure compliance, accuracy, quality, and timely submission of clinical documentation\nBe available and willing to enter a live session in a supervisor/co-therapist role if needed with very complex cases\nEnsure the clinical supervision hours ratio, type of supervision and modality according to COAMFTE requirements\nMaintain supervision notes\nReview and sign student therapists’ clinical notes on Medicat One for all supervisees’ caseloads\nComplete Clinical Evaluation of Student therapists on Tevera for Fall, Spring and Summer (Winter evaluation is carried into the following Spring semester).\nTake weekly attendance of students and submit final grades on PeopleSoft when grades are due.\nQualifications\nClinical Supervisor Requirements:\nGraduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (preferable).\nAppropriate state licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy in the state of New York (Preferable) and/or the state of New Jersey or Connecticut. \nAAMFT Approved Supervisor with supervision experience Or can achieve the AAMFT approved supervisor designation within two years from the date of hire.\n2+ years of experience providing systemic supervision.\nFamiliar with electronic medical records (i.e.., Medicat), student record platform (i.e., Tevera, Vault) and Zoom platforms.\nProficient with relational/systemic supervision, service delivery, and case management fundamentals.\nProficient knowledge of relational/systemic concepts and theories in both clinical and supervision.\nProficient knowledge of self-of-the-therapist work within supervisory role.\nProficient knowledge of applicable state, AAMFT laws and rules, AAMFT Code of Ethics, AMFTRB Teletherapy and Telesupervision Guidelines II and HIPAA Federal regulations.\nStrong communication, written and supervisory skills.\nProficient computer skills to work efficiently and effectively within technological platform at Iona.\nDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice within the context of mental health \nStart Date: August 25, 2025\nTo Apply: Please submit the following:\nCover letter that explains your interest in the Supervisor role and what makes you a strong candidate \nResume or CV \n1 professional reference\nProof of License certificate \nProof of AAMFT Approved Supervisor, if applicable\n\nVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.\nAbout Iona/EEO Statement:\nFounded in 1940, Iona University is a private, Catholic, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers.
