La Défense, the successful candidate will join the Project Procurement team and play a key role in managing subcontracting activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring contractual compliance, commercial performance and effective risk management.\n Reporting to the Project Procurement Manager, the Subcontract Engineer / Chartering Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, negotiation, award and administration of subcontracts covering project services and offshore operations.\nThe role encompasses the entire subcontract lifecycle, from sourcing strategy and tendering to contract execution, claims management and close-out, with additional responsibilities related to vessel chartering.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSubcontract Management & Procurement\nManage end-to-end subcontracting activities, including procurement planning, tendering, contract award, administration and close-out.\nPrepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) based on technical specifications, commercial requirements and project needs.\nCoordinate technical, HSE, quality, legal, financial and insurance evaluations of subcontractors and commercial proposals.\nConduct commercial bid evaluations, manage clarifications and prepare recommendations for contract award.\nNegotiate contractual terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, liabilities, guarantees, variations and risk allocation.\nEnsure subcontract awards comply with internal procurement policies, approved contractual templates and applicable legal frameworks.\nContract Administration & Claims Management\nMonitor subcontractor performance, contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, costs and invoicing.\nManage contractual correspondence, amendments, variations, disputes and claims throughout project execution.\nIdentify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks affecting project costs, schedules and performance.\nCoordinate subcontract progress meetings, monitor action plans and escalate critical issues to project management.\nManage final account settlements, subcontractor performance evaluations and contractual close-out activities.\nVessel Chartering & Marine Services\nSupport vessel chartering activities, including RFQ preparation, commercial evaluations and negotiations with shipowners, brokers and marine service providers.\nParticipate in charter party negotiations, including the use of BIMCO-based contractual frameworks where applicable.\nCoordinate with marine and project teams to monitor charter execution, contractual compliance and vessel performance.\nContribute to cost-effective and compliant marine logistics and offshore service arrangements.\nProject Coordination & Compliance\nCollaborate with Engineering, Operations, Marine, Legal, HSE, Quality, Finance and Cost Control teams.\nMaintain accurate contract records, ERP data, procurement documentation and commercial reporting.\nEnsure subcontractor compliance with HSE, quality, ethical and regulatory requirements.\nSupport and guide junior procurement professionals involved in subcontracting activities.\n Education\nDegree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Logistics or a related discipline.\n\nProfessional Experience\n5-10 years of experience in subcontracting, contract administration, project procurement or construction and services contracting.\nProven experience managing the full subcontract lifecycle, including tendering, negotiation, contract award, post-award administration, variations, claims and close-out.\nExperience in Offshore Energy, Oil & Gas, Subsea, Engineering or Construction projects.\nPrevious exposure to vessel chartering, marine services or offshore logistics would be an advantage.\nFamiliarity with BIMCO contracts, charter party agreements and marine contracting practices is desirable.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong knowledge of subcontracting strategies, commercial evaluations and contractual negotiations.\nExperience in contract drafting, claims management and change control.\nUnderstanding of commercial risk allocation, cost control and contractual compliance.\nProficiency in ERP systems, procurement reporting and contract documentation.\nAbility to manage complex subcontracting packages and coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders.\nLanguages\nEnglish: Fluent professional proficiency required.\nFrench or Portuguese: Considered an advantage.\nPersonal Skills\nExcellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong commercial judgment and analytical capabilities.\nAbility to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.\nProactive approach to contractual risk identification and problem-solving.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to operate effectively in an international and multicultural project environment.\n Position: Subcontract Engineer / Chartering Specialist\nIndustry: Offshore Energy / Oil & Gas / Subsea\nLocation: Paris -
