{"id":2514098,"url":"https://alion.io/job/iota-group-surf-structures-engineer","title":"SURF Structures Engineer","company":{"id":678195,"name":"IOTA Group","domain":"iotagroup.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/iotagroup","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"staffing","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"SmartRecruiters","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":80,"open_postings":3,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":18,"computed_at":"2026-10-14T06:34:16Z"}},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":"staff","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"explicit","locations":["London, United Kingdom"],"countries":["GB"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":79000,"max_usd":176000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":8},"experience_years_min":15,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"AutoCAD","optional":false},{"name":"SolidWorks","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T09:21:14Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-14T20:08:32Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"IOTA Group is recruiting a Senior SURF Subsea Structures Engineer for one of its international partners in the Oil & Gas industry.\nThe position supports a major ultra-deepwater offshore development project in Namibia, involving an FPSO designed to process approximately 160,000 barrels of oil per day, operating in water depths of approximately 3,000 metres, with up to 40 subsea wells.\nBased in London, United Kingdom, you will oversee subsea structures engineering activities throughout the Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction and Commissioning (EPSCC) phases.\n Reporting to the SURF Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the technical supervision, design review, procurement and fabrication follow-up of subsea structures throughout the project execution phase.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead and coordinate subsea structures engineering activities across the EPSCC phases.\nOversee the detailed design and timely delivery of FLETs, ILTs, foundations, pipe supports/sleepers, anchoring piles, lateral buckling and pipe-walking mitigation structures.\nReview and validate engineering studies, technical drawings, specifications, calculations and procedures submitted by SURF contractors and suppliers.\nReview in-place and installation analyses, ensuring compliance with applicable international standards and project specifications.\nMonitor procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning activities.\nSupervise contractor and fabrication yard performance, identifying technical deviations, constructability issues and potential schedule impacts.\nEnsure compliance with HSE, QA/QC, technical and contractual requirements throughout project execution.\nCoordinate technical interfaces with SURF Installation, SPS, FPSO, Fabrication and Field Operations teams, as well as external contractors and third parties.\nSupport project reviews, risk assessments, technical reporting and engineering optimisation.\nProvide technical expertise to the SURF Technical Manager and contribute to effective project execution, cost optimisation and schedule performance.\n Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.\nMinimum 15 years of experience in subsea structures engineering, including detailed design and fabrication.\nProven experience on large offshore Oil & Gas SURF deepwater EPCI projects.\nStrong technical expertise in FLETs, ILTs, subsea foundations, pipe supports, sleepers and anchoring systems.\nExperience supervising engineering contractors, suppliers and fabrication yards.\nSolid understanding of subsea structures installation, transportation and constructability challenges.\nTechnical Skills\nGood knowledge of international engineering standards, including DNV, ASME, API and ISO.\nPractical experience with engineering software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, SACS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and OrcaFlex.\nStrong understanding of geotechnical engineering applied to subsea structures.\nExperience with subsea equipment integration, including subsea connectors, MQC plates, electrical harnesses, e-SCM, electrical actuators and dosing valves.\nAbility to review detailed engineering documentation and identify technical risks and non-conformities.\n Location: London, United Kingdom \nProject: Major ultra-deepwater Oil & Gas development in Africa\nStarting Date: February 2027 \n Contract Duration: 12 months, renewable (very long project)\nWorking Schedule: Residential -
