Classes are currently scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for nine months of the year, providing a predictable and manageable commitment. Instructors also have the flexibility to add additional classes if desired. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who want to share their expertise and make a meaningful impact without the demands of a full-time role.\nJob Duties:\nTeach CNA and related courses in accordance with approved course outlines and DIA (Department of Inspections and Appeals) requirements.\nProvide CNA clinical instruction in local long-term care facilities.\nDeliver content using a variety of instructional methods and technologies (in-person, online, and hybrid).\nDevelop and maintain course syllabi and materials.\nMaintain accurate student and course records to meet state and federal standards.\nCoordinate with the Health Education Coordinator to schedule classes based on instructor availability and program needs.\nAttend staff meetings and participate in professional development activities as appropriate.\nProvide mentorship for new instructors when needed.\nMaintain a clean and professional instructional environment\nSupports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned. \nEducation and Experience: Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with active RN licensure in Iowa or a compact state (or ability to obtain). Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse. At least 1 year of full-time employment in long-term care strongly preferred but not required. Teaching or training experience preferred.\nCertifications and Licenses: Registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state or the ability to obtain one.
