Perform set-ups and ensure that the quality and quantity of the product meets defined standards. The Laminator Operator is responsible for maintaining equipment and keeping the work area orderly and clean as defined in the 5S standards. The Laminator Operator is expected to follow all production and safety policies and procedures.\n\nPrinciple Accountabilities\nEnsure safe work practices and procedures are followed. Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action on those within your control. Report all others immediately to site management. Suggest ideas for safety related improvements to the process or procedures.\nPerform quality inspections using defined standards and methods. Perform assigned in-process testing to ensure product quality.\nSafely operate the laminating equipment and follow the work order schedules to ensure proper product specifications are followed.\nOperate the various types of equipment in the laminating area. This includes start-up and shut-down procedures for these operations. \nOperate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hoists to move, store, stage and/or load raw materials and product.\nControls downtime and ensures optimum machine performance by performing routine equipment process care, machine cleaning, and maintenance.\nRecord all production information into the shop floor system accurately and timely.\nEnsure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and needs.\nMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.\nComplete all required safety training on time.\nActive participation in the Intertape Performance System (IPS) and participate in safety audits such as the Safety Observation program.\nRelated tasks as requested by manager.\n\nEssential Skills and Experience\nHigh school diploma, equivalent, and/or demonstrated comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills to read and follow detailed production specifications.\nMinimum of two years of industrial experience preferred. Experience in coating and adhesive /mixing processes, web handling with paper or film desired. Mechanically inclined for set-up, operation, and troubleshooting preferred.\nDemonstrates practical problem-solving abilities. Prioritizes work to focus on important problems/issues. Communicates clearly and efficiently with other team members. Completes job tasks in a timely manner achieving defined production standards.\nCould regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to maintain upright and/or standing position for majority of a 12-hour shift. Often walks while performing job duties. Often carries, pushes, or pulls up to 35 lbs. Must be able to bend, climb and use both hands to perform job duties. Operate hoist. Possess ability for rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously required for machine operation. Ability to maintain 3 points of contact for climbing stairs, ladders, and mounting/dismounting powered industrial trucks.
