The role is responsible for designing, building, and migrating Layer 3 core network services including WAN replacement, new PoP build-outs, hosting interconnects, site core routing, and multicast while simultaneously performing configuration cleanup on divested-entity infrastructure ahead of Day 1.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n- Design and build new PoP infrastructure including colocation procurement, rack and stack, and initial configuration\n\n- Configure perimeter security integration (Palo Alto) at new PoP locations\n\n- Establish internet edge connectivity including Zscaler GRE tunnel integration\n\n- Configure SD-WAN termination at new PoPs\n\n- Deliver network integration for hosting environments (spine-and-leaf, pseudowire, L3 peering)\n\n- Deploy new L3 core switches and integrate with the new WAN across multiple sites\n\n- Remove retained-entity VRFs and routing configuration from divested-entity core switches\n\nTech Stack & Requirements:\n\n- Strong enterprise/service provider routing background (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP)\n\n- Experience with Cisco Catalyst (9000 series) and Nexus (NX-OS) platforms\n\n- Experience with WAN design, build, and migration (MPLS, SD-WAN, point-to-point circuits)\n\n- Working knowledge of Python and familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code\n\n- Daily use of Git and GitHub workflows\n\n- CCNP/CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or Service Provider certification is desirable\n\nWorking Practices:\n\n- Agile delivery within two-week sprints\n\n- All code and configuration submitted via pull request with peer review where applicable\n\n- Design decisions documented and aligned to the programme's design assurance framework\n\nSkills\nRouting & Switching, Packet Switching, SDWAN, Cisco, Network Protocols, Routing Protocols, CCNP, CCIE","description_format":"text","description_chars":1971,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T22:00:00Z"}],"liveness":{"score":31,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":0.85,"p_active":0.666,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":26,"expected_fill_days":24,"reasons":["seen:26","velocity","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/ipgst-india-core-routing-network-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/ipgst-india-core-routing-network-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T11:01:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2353,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2647,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
