About the Role:
iPivot is looking for an experienced Data Modeler with strong expertise in data modelling, SQL and cloud data warehouse technologies. The candidate must have hands-on experience in the Midstream Oil & Gas domain and be capable of designing reliable, scalable data models that support business reporting, analytics and data engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models based on business and technical requirements.
- Create and maintain entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), dimensional models and data structures for analytical use cases.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to support data analysis, validation and modelling requirements.
- Work with Snowflake or equivalent cloud data warehouse platforms to design and maintain scalable data models.
- Use dbt to develop, organize, test and maintain data transformation models.
- Define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, business definitions and technical documentation.
- Establish data lineage to improve traceability and understanding of data flows across systems.
- Implement data quality checks and validation rules to maintain data accuracy, consistency and completeness.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data models.
- Support data integration, transformation and reporting initiatives involving midstream oil and gas datasets.
- Identify data modelling issues and recommend improvements to data structures, performance and maintainability.
Required Skills:
- 5-8 years of experience in data modelling.
- Mandatory: Hands-on domain experience in Midstream Oil & Gas.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience with Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data warehouse.
- Hands-on experience with dbt.
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with metadata management, data quality and data lineage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
Candidates should have strong data modelling fundamentals, practical experience with modern data warehouse and transformation technologies, and a solid understanding of Midstream Oil & Gas business data. The ability to translate business requirements into accurate, scalable and maintainable data models is essential.
