The company employs c.4,100 employees across North America (1,600 employees) and Europe (2,500 employees.)\nThe role\nThe Engineering Team are looking to fill the role of Shift Lead Multi Skilled Engineer. As a Shift Lead Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the management of the maintenance team to ensure self-sufficiency of that team on your shift as well as assisting the Engineering Manager in the management of your team including, control, planning, organising and motivating.\nYou will work as part of a team and be responsible for maintaining and repairing the manufacturing equipment. Responsible for onsite repairs, unforeseen breakdowns and conducting the preventative and day-to-day maintenance on a continuous process production plant. The ability to diagnose and communicate electrical and/or mechanical faults with machinery ensuring we achieve production company targets and objectives, promoting operational excellence whilst being expected to be a role model at all times.\nThe role is based at our Tamworth site and based on working the following shift pattern:\nPanama Shift Pattern:\nOn - 2 Days, 2 Nights\nOff - 5 Days\n\nOn - 2 Days, 3 Nights\nOff - 4 Days\n\nOn - 3 Days, 2 Nights\nOff - 5 Days\n\nTotal Cycle Length: 28 days (14 days On, 14 days Off)\nAs an Shift Lead Maintenance Engineer at IPL you will:\nEnsuring compliance with Health and Safety operating procedures and ensuring company and customer technical standards are maintained.\nManage HSE issues for the plant ensuring a zero Accident mentality is maintained.\nFoster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication, teamwork, and a positive work culture.\nDefine, implement, measure, track KPIs to enable improvements within and across disciplines.\nCommunicating with the teams by utilising the visual management, delivery shift briefs with focus on quality, cost and delivery and gathering ideas for improvement.\nResponsible for accurately completing all compliance paperwork, daily shift reports, HR attendance reports or any other documentation or reporting as and when required by the business.\nMaintaining a consistent production flow ensuring employees are full trained and working efficiently.\nReporting and managing employee welfare and accidents whilst on shift.\nResponsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of machine parts.\nRectifying all hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical issues.\nEnhancing, repairing and maintaining all the Plant, Equipment and Services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule and updating the maintenance log.\nAssisting with the installation and commission of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers.\nInvolvement with improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise efficiency of the plant.\nTo maintain a relationship with appropriate plant and services contractors/ suppliers and arrange for such suppliers to undertake the engineering works that are required through breakdowns, maintenance and project/ enhancement work.\nTo organise and maintain the technical database.\nOrder spares / consumables required to support the engineering activities that will be undertaken in house or by a contracted company.\nWork closely with Production, Tool Change and Tool Room teams to effectively achieve the required engineering outcome.\nOperate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes.\nAny other tasks as requested by Management.\nTargets: Number of T Cards closed to target, scrap below set target, minimal machine downtime, planned maintenance and project work to be completed in cost and on time.\nEscalate any quality concerns or machine issues to relevant staff, done via raising non-conformances or confidential reporting when necessary.\nLevels of 5S are adhered to, both workshop and machines\nEnsuring the PPM schedule is adhered to.\nWorking with Production to fully understand the manufacturing plans and being able to ac-tion those plans accordingly.\nWhat you will bring to the role:\nExperience in plastic injection moulding.\nFully qualified Electrical Engineer, experienced within a manufacturing.\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations.\nApprentice trained mechatronic or Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering\nUnderstanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working.\nMinimum of 5 years previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment as a Team Leader or similar supervisory role.\nLean manufacturing or production management.\nGCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English.\nILM or equivalent certificate in Leadership.\nAble to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines.\nUnderstanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working\nDisplays safe and considerate working practices.\nFully computer literate and competent using all Microsoft packages including Outlook.\nAble to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.\nCan do will do - Showing a positive professional attitude to everyday challenged.
