This role joins a dynamic team focused on building and maintaining tools and automation to streamline the software development lifecycle, reduce cognitive load for engineering teams, and improve release velocity.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and releases. \nBuild and maintain internal tooling to support the software development lifecycle (e.g., code quality analysis, dependency management, automated testing). \nCollaborate with engineering teams to identify and automate manual processes, reducing cognitive load and improving efficiency. \nImplement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) for internal development environments. \nWork closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build processes, testing, and deployments. \nCoordinate penetration testing, code/virus scanning, and disseminate findings to the engineering team for resolution. \nMeasure performance and environment of applications with system and application log tools. \nWork with Product Engineering to ensure technical alignment and best practice approaches are used. \nEvaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve developer experience and release velocity. \nUse AI coding assistants to accelerate authoring of CI/CD pipeline configurations, IaC scripts, and automation tooling. \nApply AI-assisted security scanning (SAST) as an automated merge gate across engineering pipelines. \nSupport delivery teams and partners to reduce the complexity of implementing IQGeo solutions. \nParticipate in an on-call rotation. \nMandatory AI Engineering Competencies\nCandidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in an AI-First Software Development Lifecycle.\nProficient in AI-assisted software development using modern coding assistants to accelerate design, implementation, testing and documentation.\nAbility to translate business requirements into structured specifications prior to implementation (Spec-Driven Development).\nStrong prompt engineering skills for software engineering tasks including code generation, test generation, debugging, documentation and architecture.\nAbility to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, performance and maintainability.\nExperience using AI to generate and maintain automated unit, API and integration tests.\nDemonstrated ability to work with AI agents while retaining full engineering ownership and accountability.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nEssential skills & experience:\nProficient scripting skills (Python, BASH, JavaScript).\nStrong knowledge of Linux operating systems.\nExperience with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nExperience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).\nExperience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform).\nExperience using Git or other distributed version control systems.\nExperience with bug tracking tools and code repositories.\nExcellent organisational skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nProven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed remote team environment.\nFluent written and spoken English.\nNice to have:\nExperience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).\nExperience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).\nExperience with code quality analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk).\nExperience with dependency management tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle, npm, pip).\nExperience with automated testing frameworks.\nExperience with Node.js design and development.\nExperience working in an Agile software engineering environment.\nYour Background\nDegree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.\nWhat’s in It for You?\n25 days of paid holiday, with the opportunity to purchase up to 5 extra days (total 30)\nSHINE employee ownership program\nCompany-matched pension contributions up to 6% of base salary\nPrivate medical insurance (Bupa) & health cash plan\nLife assurance (4x gross salary) & incapacity benefit\nEnhanced maternity leave policy\nEV company car scheme (salary sacrifice) & cycle-to-work scheme (salary sacrifice)\nGive as you earn charity scheme & paid volunteering day each year\nCareer development opportunities (mentorship program, training, etc.)\nHome office support for remote workers\nFlexibility & Work-Life Balance\nWe support hybrid and flexible working arrangements for all employees.
