The role provides deep expertise on modeling approaches, algorithmic design, and implementation strategies.\nThe Associate Director, AI/ML & Computational Biomarkers evaluates alternative technical solutions, recommends methodologies based on scientific and technical considerations, and drives the design and implementation of robust algorithmic solutions that support the organization's digital measurement objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the primary technical expert for AI/ML algorithms and computational biomarker development across the digital measurement platform.\nDesign, develop, implement, and optimize AI/ML algorithms that transform multimodal sensor, wearable, mobile, and behavioral data into robust digital measurements and computational biomarkers.\nAct as the lead architect for advanced modeling approaches, including deep learning, representation learning, personalization, and other novel AI/ML methodologies.\nOptimize algorithmic performance, reliability, scalability, and efficiency on large-scale multimodal datasets, including wearable, mobile, physiological, behavioral, and contextual data.\nEvaluate alternative modeling approaches, provide technical recommendations, and articulate the scientific and technical trade-offs associated with different methodologies.\nEstablish and maintain high standards for algorithm development, reproducibility, validation, documentation, and technical quality.\nLead and mentor scientists and ML engineers on complex modeling challenges, system design decisions, and advanced AI/ML methodologies.\nPartner with platform and engineering teams to ensure algorithms are production-ready, scalable, maintainable, and seamlessly integrated into enterprise measurement and analytics platforms.\nContribute technical expertise to the development and validation of novel computational biomarker methodologies and digital measurement capabilities.\nContribute to and represent the organization in scientific publications, technology reviews, industry discussions, and external research collaborations related to AI/ML, computational biomarkers, and digital measurement technologies.\nQualifications\nPhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.\n10+ years of experience in AI/ML, computational biomarker development, signal processing, or data-driven health technologies.\nDeep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series analysis, signal processing, and multimodal data integration.\nProven track record of developing scientifically rigorous, reproducible, and production-ready AI/ML solutions from research through deployment.\nExperience optimizing algorithmic performance, reliability, and efficiency on large-scale multimodal datasets, including wearable, mobile, physiological, behavioral, or contextual data.\nExperience collaborating with software engineering, platform, and MLOps teams to deliver production-ready AI/ML solutions.\nDemonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor scientists and engineers on complex modeling, algorithm design, and system architecture challenges.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain advanced technical concepts and modeling trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nStrong publication record and recognized expertise in applied AI/ML, computational modeling, or digital health technologies are considered a plus.\nExperience working with healthcare, biosignals, wearable devices, digital biomarkers, or regulated environments is considered a strong advantage.\nStrategic Importance\nThis role provides the technical leadership and AI/ML expertise required to develop robust, scalable, and production-ready computational biomarker solutions.
