If you want to discover a career with greater purpose, join us as we transform and accelerate research and development.\nJob Summary:\nThe Specimen Management Associate 2 is responsible for the receipt, accessioning, storage, shipment, and inventory management of clinical specimens. This role supports operational excellence through accurate sample handling, troubleshooting routine issues, and guiding entry-level team members on departmental procedures.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nAccession, label, sort, store, and ship clinical specimens accurately and efficiently\nMaintain freezer systems, specimen inventories, and storage records\nIdentify potential issues with specimens or processes and escalate concerns when appropriate\nGuide entry-level staff on routine procedures and support onboarding activities\nRespond to after-hours alarms and other critical operational requirements as needed\nSupport safety, quality, and 6S initiatives within the laboratory environment\nMonitor supplies and communicate shortages to the appropriate stakeholders\nMaintain clear, accurate, and timely communication with cross-functional teams\nWhat We Are Looking For:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; some CAP/CLIA laboratory locations may require a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology\n6 months of related experience preferred\nBasic computer skills and the ability to work with internal systems and procedures\nKnowledge of specimen accessioning, inventory management, storage, and shipment processes\nOther equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree\nThe Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:\nAbility to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when handling biological samples\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients\nGood working knowledge of relevant laboratory and specimen management procedures\nEffective communication and problem-solving skills\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
