Your primary objective will be to scale the core of our platform while measurably ensuring resiliency, maintainability, and observability. You will own the architecture of distributed systems that move and account for retirement assets to the penny, scale our transaction processing by orders of magnitude, and set the engineering standard the rest of the organization builds to. This is a hands-on role: you will write code on our hardest problems while shaping technical direction across teams.\nResponsibilities:\nThe essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nScope, design, build, and operate the services at the core of our platform - systems that must process retirement transactions accurately, at scale, every day.\nDrive step-change improvements in throughput, resiliency, and performance, scaling distributed cloud services both vertically and horizontally across the stack.\nBuild the observability needed to prove the platform is right: dashboards, monitoring, and alerting that verify accurate and timely processing down to decimal precision.\nArbitrate critical architectural decisions in collaboration with architecture, balancing software best practices, system realities, and stakeholder needs.\nEnsure the delivery of high-quality code that adheres to a defined SDLC, coding standards, and automated quality gates, with measurable improvement in code quality and test coverage for our most critical functionality.\nDebug and resolve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.\nTeach and mentor the next generation of technical leaders at IRALOGIX.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nDeep production experience with Java and Spring Boot.\nWorking proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScrip, React, Node.js and Python.\nStrong experience with ANSI SQL and PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.\nDemonstrated experience designing and scaling distributed systems, including event-driven, straight-through, and batch processing.\nAbility to leverage the full capabilities of modern observability tooling (metrics, tracing, logging, and alerting).\nAWS experience with services such as ECS, RDS, S3, and IAM, including infrastructure-as-code.\nAbility to move fluidly between high-level architecture discussions and detailed code.\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nA minimum of 12 years of software development experience.\nA minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering distributed systems at scale.\nExperience in a FinTech or start-up environment preferred.\nProficient with AWS and/or AWS certifications preferred.\nExperience with accounting systems is preferred.\nMust be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible to work in the US permanently.\nIRALOGIX is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a team that embraces diversity, represents a variety of backgrounds, and upholds inclusiveness.
