If you're passionate about software engineering and want to work with a collaborative team of engineers, then we encourage you to apply today!\nWhat You’ll Do:\nBe a key contributor on our agile software development team\nUse (and improve) existing software engineering processes to increase efficiency and quality in the satellite application software product\nNew feature development and maintenance updates for the application software product on Iridium’s satellite constellation\nContribute to the planning and execution of software product releases\nUse Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Artifactory, and other tools to track changes and automate the provisioning of software artifact\nWork with stakeholders from within the Satellite Software Product Team as well as other parts of the organization to solve challenging problem\nPromote knowledge sharing through briefings, presentations, and other documentation such as UML diagrams and software specifications\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:\nBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline\n0 - 2 years of relevant experience in the software engineering industry\nStrong grasp of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms, operating systems, and computer architecture\nProficiency in C / C++ and Python programming languages\nEffective communication skills, with the ability to communicate key messages and ideas clearly and effectively \nAbility to cultivate meaningful and productive relationships with other members of the team\nThe ability to think outside the box to help solve problems, with the humility to ask for help when needed \nAdaptability to a dynamic environment and the readiness to take on any new tasks that are handed to you \nA motivation to achieve outcomes and results \nCapable of handling multiple tasks at once and completing them on time with mostly no errors \nAn eagerness to develop professionally, continuously learn, and share knowledge with others \nThings That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:\nExperience with the following technologies is strongly desired:Comfortable working in a Linux environment\nUsing git version control\nKnowledge of Agile software development practices\n\nWorking knowledge or willingness to learn the following technologies is desired:Atlassian management software suite: Jira / Bitbucket / Crucible / Confluence\n\nWe’ll also need you to:\nBe a US Citizen with no dual citizenship\nAbility to work in the office at least 60% of your time (3 days a week) to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders ( Chandler, AZ )\nWork Environment:\nThis position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer.
