Join Iridium's Test Engineering team as a Test Engineer II! In this role you will contribute to the research, development, testing, and sustaining engineering activities of Iridium services. As a Test Engineer II, your work is focused on verifying the reliability and robustness of Iridium products and communication services. You will also perform development activities related to our test automation efforts. Don't miss out on this opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic team at the forefront of satellite communications technology!\nWhat You’ll Do:\nWork collaboratively with software, hardware, and system development engineers to ensure high product quality\nDecompose requirements into verifiable test objectives\nPerform integration, maintenance, and operation of system hardware, lab hardware, and software systems\nConduct implementation and maintenance of communication products automated test system and software\nDevelop scripts and/or systems to automatically test and validate products, collect test artifacts, produce product test metrics and generate reports\nRecreate and isolate reported software and/or hardware defects using test infrastructure and document non-compliances\nResearch and assist with implementing hardware upgrades of ground infrastructure and test systems\nParticipate in maintaining and executing test automation for feature, defect and regression testing\nHelp your team with maintaining configuration management of test automation software and scripts\nWork with industry standard tools and software such as Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana, Amazon Web Services, CI/CD DevOps pipelines, containers and more\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field\n2+ years of relevant experience with test execution and analysis, test automation, and/or software development\nIntermediate knowledge of Cloud Computing Services and Cloud Infrastructure\nIntermediate knowledge of featured services such as storage, compute services, containers, and virtual servers\nKnowledge of various software languages including Python, C, C++, C#, Java, etc.\nStrong desire to think creatively and drive innovative solutions to complex problems, continuously improving processes, tools, or technologies\nA solid understanding of Linux and/or Unix operating systems\nA strong motivation to engage with and enhance test automation processes through innovation\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others\nHave confidence and be able to easily build meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team\nMust be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed\nBe active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others \nThings That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:\nPrevious hands-on experience with the following:Software management tools (JIRA, GIT and/or Bamboo)\nIntegrated Development Environment (PyCharm, Spyder, Pydev, etc.)\nMachine virtualization, specifically VMware Desktop and ESXi\nDatabases such as Oracle, MySQL, and/or SQL Server\nKnowledge of network switches and routers\nKnowledge of space systems and orbital analysis\nAgile development methodology\n\nWe’ll also need you to:\nThis position directly performs under, supports, or is exposed to a U.S. government contract.
