Our software pays 1 in 6 UK employees, supports over 12,000 schools, and is relied on by 91 of the top 100 UK accountancy firms.\nWe're a Great Place to Work® certified employer, recognised for our commitment to well-being, inclusion and development - and we're growing fast.\nJob Title: Senior Director of Corporate Applications\nLocation: UK\nDepartment: Corporate Applications / Information Technology\nReports To: VP, Global IT\nEmployment Type: Full-time\nAbout IRIS Software:\nIRIS Software Group is one of the largest privately held software companies in the UK. We've supplied innovative administrative solutions to businesses, charities, and the public sector for over 40 years. We are close to 3000 employees in the IRIS family today with operations in the UK, Ireland, Romania, North America and India.\nWe have very significant growth plans over the next 12-18 months to build upon our already impressive footprint. We have a clear M&A strategy and will acquire high performing, innovative cloud first tech businesses.\nWe exist to simplify the lives of businesses, schools and organizations, by providing software solutions and services that substantially enhance operational compliance, efficiency and accuracy, empowering the users of our technology to look forward with certainty and confidence.\nWe are in the midst of a significant investment to consolidate and transform our corporate application landscape, and we're looking for a strategic, hands-on Senior Director of Corporate Applications to lead that transformation - modernizing the systems that run our business and enabling IRIS to scale efficiently through continued growth and acquisition.\nThe Role & Purpose\nAs Senior Director of Corporate Applications and a key member of the wider IT leadership team, you will:\nOwn the strategy, roadmap, and operational health of our corporate/internal application estate, including CRM, ERP, billing, finance, and other business-critical SaaS platforms.\nLead the consolidation and transformation of our corporate applications as part of a major, active investment program, reducing redundancy and simplifying how the business works.\nPartner with business stakeholders across Finance, Billing, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to translate business needs into prioritized, well-governed system and process changes.\nContribute directly to IRIS's M&A strategy by leading application and platform integration, consolidation, and (where relevant) divestment work for acquired and divested businesses.\nYou're passionate about the needs of the business and the people who rely on our internal systems every day. You'll inspire your team to put stakeholders at the center of what they do, working closely with business leaders to ensure aligned priorities and shared goals.\nYou'll make sure our corporate applications strategy is deliverable, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the function has a reputation for reliability, responsiveness, and disciplined execution.\nIn short, we're looking for a technology and business systems leader with proven experience driving business system transformation. You'll manage cross-functional teams, build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, own platforms through into steady-state operation, and drive standardization that keeps us within the configuration boundaries of our hosted SaaS platforms rather than costly customization. One who is equally comfortable in Commercial, Operational, and Technology settings, can communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, set priorities amid competing demands, and drive constant process improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nStakeholder Management & Business Transformation\nBuild trusted relationships with business leaders and stakeholders across the organization - using structured discovery and probing questions to fully understand their priorities - and translate those needs into a clear, prioritized applications roadmap and well-designed solutions.\nLead business process transformation initiatives, challenging \"as-is\" ways of working and driving adoption of standardized, efficient processes across corporate systems.\nBalance competing priorities across multiple business functions, making transparent, well-justified trade-off decisions on scope, sequencing, and resourcing.\nAct as a change agent, building organizational buy-in for new systems, consolidated platforms, and revised ways of working.\nPlatform Consolidation & M&A\nLead the technical and functional consolidation of corporate applications following mergers, acquisitions, and divestments, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.\nOwn due diligence input and post-close integration planning for corporate systems (CRM, ERP, billing, finance) as part of the wider M&A process.\nDrive the current large-scale investment program to consolidate our corporate applications footprint, reducing tool sprawl and duplicate functionality.\nDevelop and execute modernization, consolidation, and platform convergence plans across legacy and current-generation systems.\nBilling & Revenue Systems\nOwn the strategy and roadmap for billing and revenue systems, ensuring accurate, scalable invoicing and collections as the business grows and acquires new entities.\nLead consolidation of billing platforms and processes following acquisitions, ensuring a consistent, auditable billing experience across the business.\nPartner with Finance and Revenue Operations to streamline quote-to-cash processes, reducing manual workarounds and billing errors.\nEnsure billing systems integrate cleanly with CRM and ERP platforms to maintain a single source of truth for customer and revenue data.\nApplication Reliability & Performance\nUse Datadog (or equivalent) monitoring to proactively detect issues, identify emerging trends, and deflect incidents before they impact the business.\nOwn application performance tuning and capacity planning across the corporate applications estate, ensuring systems remain fast, stable, and reliable at scale.\nEstablish clear incident management, escalation, and post-incident review processes for corporate systems.\nTrack, analyze, and act on platform performance and reliability metrics, reporting on system health to business and technology leadership.\nServe as the final escalation point for the most complex application issues, drawing on deep platform expertise to drive rapid, expert-level resolution when standard support channels are exhausted.\nSolutions, Architecture & Documentation\nOwn architecture standards and governance for the corporate applications landscape, ensuring platform designs, integrations, and data flows are scalable, secure, and consistent.\nEnsure comprehensive technical and process documentation is created and maintained across corporate systems, supporting audits, onboarding, and knowledge continuity.\nCollect and analyze business and platform data - beyond system performance metrics - turning it into actionable insight that informs prioritization and investment decisions.\nConfiguration Discipline & Platform Governance\nChampion a configuration-first approach on hosted SaaS platforms, resisting unnecessary customization in favor of supported, upgrade-safe configuration.\nEstablish and continuously refine governance frameworks, policies, and processes for how corporate applications are changed, used, and supported - evaluating updates for long-term maintainability, upgrade impact, and total cost of ownership, and ensuring a compliant, consistent stakeholder experience.\nMaintain a clear view of the corporate applications landscape to maximize the capabilities of platforms already in use.\nTeam Management\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of business systems analysts, application administrators, and corporate systems engineers.\nFoster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.\nManage relationships with SaaS vendors and implementation partners, holding them accountable to delivery commitments and service levels.\nEstablish skill development plans to build and maintain platform expertise across the team (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle NetSuite, and other corporate systems).\nProject & Vendor Management\nCollaborate with Finance, Billing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure timely, quality delivery of system enhancements and integrations.\nManage timelines, priorities, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent transformation projects.\nManage licensing, contracts, and renewals for corporate SaaS platforms in partnership with Procurement and Finance.\nSecurity & Compliance\nEnsure corporate applications meet required service levels and the standards expected of modern Cloud/SaaS services.\nTake a lead in establishing secure processes and access controls for corporate systems, managing risk in collaboration with Security and business leaders.\nTake responsibility for data protection across corporate applications, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations.\nLead risk assessments and maintain secure environments for sensitive financial, billing, and customer data.\nQualifications\nPrevious Director or Senior Director level leadership of a corporate applications, business systems, or internal IT function at a similarly sized (or larger) organization.\nProven experience (15+ years) in corporate/business applications, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.\nHands-on experience with Salesforce and/or Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred (platform certifications a plus); broader experience with corporate ERP, CRM, and billing/revenue systems also valued.\nDemonstrated success leading business system transformation and platform consolidation initiatives, ideally including post-acquisition or divestment integration.\nDirect experience supporting M&A activity - due diligence, platform consolidation, data migration, and system integration/divestment following acquisitions.\nStrong track record of stakeholder management across multiple business functions, including prioritization of competing demands.\nTrack record of leveraging enterprise monitoring/APM tooling (e.g., Datadog) at scale, with measurable reductions in incident volume or mean time to resolution as a result.\nDeep understanding of the trade-offs between configuration and customization on hosted SaaS platforms, and a track record of driving configuration-first outcomes.\nBreadth of experience evaluating current-state technology landscapes and developing modernization, consolidation, and convergence plans.\nCommercially astute, with a clear ability to demonstrate the value of proposed investment or strategy, motivated by commercial and business-outcome KPIs.\nProven track record of successfully delivering complex system and process transformation programs, at scale, on budget and on time.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.\nExperience with Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.\nFamiliarity with security best practices, especially regarding financial, billing, and customer data.\nBroad working knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure - including hardware, software, networks, databases, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) - sufficient to make informed, well-grounded platform decisions.\nWorking understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles as applied to configuration, customization, and integration work on hosted SaaS platforms.\nPreferred Skills\nExperience integrating corporate applications via APIs and middleware/iPaaS tools.\nPrior involvement in scaling corporate systems to support a growing, multi-entity, or international organization.\nExperience operating in a private-equity-backed or highly acquisitive organization.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nA corporate applications function trusted by the business to deliver:\nA consolidated, well-governed c...","description_format":"text","description_chars":15420,"description_truncated":true,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":15,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Continuous learning","Equity","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United Kingdom","iso":"GB","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["EdTech Platforms","Payroll Services","HR & Payroll Software","Accounting & Tax Software"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-08-10T12:10:21Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":20,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.726,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":77,"expected_fill_days":27,"reasons":["conf:3","velocity","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-27T05:46:45Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/iris-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/iris-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-28T02:58:40Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3982,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-29T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":51452},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=51452"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Firis-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Firis-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Firis-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/iris-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Firis-software-group-senior-director-corporate-applications-development"}]}
