It’s The Iron Bow Way.\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nIron Bow Technologies is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator - OpenShift Virtualization to support the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and operational support of an enterprise Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environment and its underlying infrastructure.\nIn this role, you will help maintain system availability, performance, security, and compliance across Linux and Windows environments while supporting virtual machine migrations from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization. You will work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, maintain system health, automate administrative tasks, and support scheduled migration activities.\nHOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT\nAdminister and support enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems across VMware vSphere and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments.\nSupport the migration of virtual machines and workloads between virtualization platforms.\nMonitor system health, availability, performance, logging, and alerts using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Nagios, or SolarWinds.\nManage user accounts, access controls, system configurations, and security hardening requirements.\nPerform patching, updates, and firmware lifecycle management across supported infrastructure.\nApply, maintain, and document security compliance requirements, including STIGs, CIS benchmarks, SCAP, and DISA compliance standards and tools.\nTroubleshoot system performance, networking, storage, and infrastructure integration issues within virtualized environments.\nUse Ansible and other automation tools to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and ongoing system administration.\nDevelop and maintain scripts using BASH, Python, or PowerShell to automate repetitive administrative tasks.\nPartner with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues and support infrastructure changes and improvements.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation related to system configurations, procedures, compliance, and operational activities.\nSupport scheduled migration cutovers, including evening and weekend work as required.\nSKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS\n5+ years of system administration experience within enterprise or government environments.\nStrong experience administering enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems.\nExperience supporting virtualized environments, including VMware vSphere and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.\nHands-on experience supporting virtual machine or workload migrations between virtualization technologies.\nExperience with user administration, access controls, system hardening, patching, and firmware lifecycle management.\nAbility to troubleshoot system performance, networking, and storage integration issues within complex virtualized environments.\nExperience with Ansible or similar configuration management and automation tools.\nScripting experience using BASH, Python, or PowerShell.\nStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.\nWillingness and ability to support scheduled evening and weekend migration cutover activities.\nU.S. citizenship required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain the required VA Public Trust background investigation.\nWHAT SETS YOU APART\nHands-on experience specifically administering Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments.\nExperience supporting migrations from VMware vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization.\nExperience with enterprise monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Nagios, or SolarWinds.\nExperience applying and documenting security requirements using STIGs, CIS benchmarks, SCAP, or DISA compliance tools.\nExperience supporting infrastructure within Federal Government or other highly regulated environments.\nStrong knowledge of networking and enterprise storage integration within virtualized environments.\nExperience using Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, or other system administration activities.\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nUp to 10% travel may be required.\nWHY YOU'LL LOVE IT!\nWork hands-on with modern virtualization technologies while helping support a large-scale transition from traditional VMware infrastructure to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.\nSolve complex infrastructure challenges across Linux, Windows, virtualization, automation, networking, and storage while working alongside experienced engineering teams.\nJoin a culture built around technical expertise, collaboration, accountability, and delivering solutions that directly support our customers' missions.\nIron Bow is rapidly growing, and with growth comes opportunity for all. This new approach elevates all and truly enables success.\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFIT INFORMATION\nThe salary range for this position is $110,000-130,000/yr. This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.\nIron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities. This range represents only one component of Iron Bow’s total compensation package.
