If so, let's start the conversation.\nManufacturing Engineering Director\nJob Summary\nIron Mountain is seeking a visionary and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Director to join our Global Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing global team of process engineers, lean specialists, Test Engineers and automation architects dedicated to the standardization and optimization of complex, high-variation manufacturing environments. You will bridge the gap between lean leadership and digital transformation, evolving manual-heavy workflows into a standardized, \"smart\" global network while ensuring world-class safety and zero-defect customer quality.\nWhat You’ll Do (Responsibilities)\nIn this role, you will:\nDrive Global Process Standardization: Design and implement a cohesive global framework to standardize manufacturing, test and business processes across multiple international sites, consolidating legacy regional documentation into a single engineering truth.\n\nLead Lean & Continuous Improvement: Execute global Value Stream Mapping (VSM) exercises to identify waste, build and manage a high-ROI lean project pipeline, and cultivate a robust global Kaizen culture through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.\n\nAdvance Automation & Industry 4.0: Identify high-value opportunities to augment manual workflows with Collaborative Robots (Cobots) and partner with Data Science teams to implement Machine Learning models for predictive maintenance and yield optimization.\n\nEnsure Safety & Quality Compliance: Enforce \"Design for Safety\" (DfS) protocols to reduce incident rates, architect 1:1 component-level traceability frameworks to meet client audit requirements, and align all engineering outputs with Customer Quality Agreements.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)\nThe ideal candidate will have:\nSenior Engineering Leadership: 10-15+ years of senior leadership experience within a High-Variation/High-Mix manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for Tier 1 Contract Electronics Manufacturing background.\n\nLean & Automation Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and the Theory of Constraints (Six Sigma Black Belt preferred), paired with practical experience deploying Cobots and machine learning sensors.\n\nGlobal Influence & Communication: A proven track record of managing remote teams across international time zones (EMEA, AMER, APAC) and the exceptional communication skills required to influence regional site leads to adopt global standards.\n\nRequired Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; an MBA or advanced degree in Operations Management is a significant advantage.\n\nWhat We Offer (Benefits)\nCompensation: Competitive compensation and executive benefits packages aligned with your experience level.\n\nWork-Life Balance: Generous paid time off, holiday schedules, and flexible work options to support personal well-being.\n\nHealth & Future: Comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement investment plans.\n\nGrowth: Meaningful global leadership opportunities for continuous learning and professional career growth within Iron Mountain.\n\nReasonably expected salary range: $163,400.00 - $217,900.00Please note that an employee's starting salary may vary based on a variety of factors.
