The position will serve as the Communications Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, the communications focal point for the AAH-PMO. The position requires a highly motivated individual with knowledge of complex military grade communications equipment including software defined radios, amplifiers, antennas, state of the art waveforms and cryptographic algorithms, and relevant military standards and airworthiness qualification requirements for integration onto the Apache platform. The candidate for this position must be able to work independently and be able to build strong relationships across multiple project offices with all levels of government employees.\nJob Responsibilities: . \nGenerate software development roadmaps/strategies and cost estimates for Radio Frequency intensive systems.\nWork with User Community to develop technical Communication requirements.\nCoordinate with PM and Systems Readiness Directorate to achieve Airworthiness Qualification for aircraft components as required.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and standards for use in Software Defined Radio systems.\nPerform countermeasures and vulnerability analysis for Radio Frequency systems.\nAssist PM personnel in developing contractual requirements associated with technical efforts to include primarily Statement of Work development.\nSupport implementation and development of digital signal processing of Ultra-Wide Bandwidth software defined radio (SDR) systems utilizing open standards SOSA and define guidance for future development and standardization.\nCoordinate frequencies in support of all Apache-related test and initial fielding activities.\nObtain and maintain access to a SIPR account for corresponding with DOD spectrum and frequency management agencies.\nTrack status of all Apache-related Radio/Temporary Frequency Authorizations (RFAs/TFAs) and submit new RFA/TFA requests as required.\nKeep PM informed of technical status of assigned tasks, significant events, controversial issues, program reviews, and other relevant issues.\nBe able to meet challenging deadlines.\nTravel is estimated at 10%\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience modeling and using modeling tools - Model Based Systems Engineering\nExperience with chassis-based radio systems\nExperience with design and/or testing of Radio Frequency devices and communication systems. \nExperience developing systems for military applications (e.g. avionics, GPS, Communications) \nFamiliarity with communication protocols used in military Radio Frequency communication systems. \nExperience with developing countermeasures against Radio Frequency communications systems (jamming, spoofing, replay attacks, etc.) \nExperience integrating and troubleshooting complex hardware/software intensive systems.\nExperience developing technical reports and presentations;
