You will help provision workspaces and catalogs, manage IAM roles and administrative access, establish secure platform guardrails, and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks so engineering teams can onboard and ship efficiently.\nThis role is ideal for a mid-level cloud/platform engineer who enjoys solving infrastructure problems, automating repetitive tasks, and serving as the technical enabler for other engineering teams.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning & Management\nProvision, configure, and manage core cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure supporting Irth’s Databricks-based data estate.\nManage infrastructure components including:\nVPCs / VNets\nSubnets\nRoute tables and network connectivity\nS3 buckets / Azure Storage Accounts\nCompute resources\nPrivate endpoints and related networking services\nEstablish and maintain secure DEV, QA, and PROD environments with appropriate isolation and platform guardrails.\nSupport cloud landing-zone implementation and ensure environments follow established security, governance, and cost policies.\nUse Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as:\nTerraform\nAzure ARM/Bicep\nAWS CloudFormation\nVersion, review, test, and deploy infrastructure changes through controlled engineering workflows.\nTroubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and cloud-service issues affecting data and ML workloads.\n2. Identity & Access Management (IAM)\nProvision and manage IAM roles, service principals, managed identities, groups, and access policies across AWS, Azure, and Databricks.\nImplement least-privilege access and role-based access control (RBAC) aligned with enterprise security standards.\nConfigure and support identity federation and automated identity lifecycle management using technologies such as:\nSSO\nSCIM\nSAML\nOAuth\nManage access across cloud resources, Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, storage, compute, and other platform services.\nReview and process elevated or administrative access requests through controlled and auditable procedures.\nBalance engineering-team productivity with security, compliance, and least-privilege requirements.\nParticipate in periodic access reviews and remediation of excessive or inappropriate permissions.\n3. Databricks Platform Administration & Team Onboarding\nCreate, configure, and administer Databricks workspaces and associated platform resources.\nConfigure and manage Unity Catalog metastores, catalogs, schemas, storage credentials, external locations, and permissions.\nSupport onboarding of Data Engineering, Data Science, and MLOps projects by establishing the appropriate platform resources and access.\nTroubleshoot onboarding blockers, including:\nMissing administrative privileges\nCluster-policy conflicts\nWorkspace configuration issues\nCatalog and schema permission problems\nStorage-access failures\nIdentity and authentication issues\nDefine and maintain Databricks cluster policies to control compute configurations, security, and cost.\nConfigure instance profiles, managed identities, storage credentials, and other mechanisms required for secure data access.\nEstablish workspace-level guardrails for compute, networking, storage, and user access.\nPartner with Data Engineering, Data Science, and MLOps teams to ensure new projects can be onboarded efficiently with the appropriate catalogs, schemas, permissions, and infrastructure already available.\nAct as the primary escalation point for Databricks platform and infrastructure issues.\n4. Security, Networking & Compliance\nImplement secure private connectivity between Databricks, cloud services, and enterprise resources.\nConfigure and troubleshoot technologies such as:\nAWS PrivateLink / VPC endpoints\nAzure Private Link / private endpoints\nVNet/VPC peering\nSecure cluster connectivity\nNetwork security groups and firewall controls\nEgress restrictions\nImplement encryption and key-management practices using:\nAWS KMS\nAWS Secrets Manager\nAzure Key Vault\nEquivalent enterprise security services\nEstablish appropriate network segmentation and isolation between environments.\nSupport security reviews and enterprise compliance requirements.\nMaintain audit logging and provide evidence for:\nAccess reviews\nAdministrative activity\nInfrastructure changes\nData access\nRetention controls\nSecurity and governance reviews\nHelp ensure infrastructure and platform configurations align with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.\n5. Cost Management, Automation & Operations\nImplement and enforce cloud and Databricks tagging standards across infrastructure and workloads.\nMonitor infrastructure and Databricks spend and identify opportunities for cost optimization.\nSupport showback/chargeback initiatives and cost reporting.\nImplement resource policies and controls that prevent unnecessary or unapproved cloud and Databricks spend.\nAutomate recurring infrastructure and access-management activities, including:\nWorkspace provisioning\nCatalog and schema setup\nIAM role assignment\nAccess provisioning\nEnvironment configuration\nStandard platform onboarding\nBuild reusable automation that reduces manual provisioning and improves onboarding turnaround time.\nMonitor platform health and respond to infrastructure and access-related incidents.\nTroubleshoot cloud, networking, identity, and Databricks issues affecting production workloads.\nMaintain clear operational runbooks, architecture documentation, access procedures, troubleshooting guides, and onboarding documentation.\nRole Outcomes\nSuccess in this role means that Irth’s data and ML teams can rely on a secure, available, well-governed, and easy-to-use platform.\nKey outcomes include:\nFast and repeatable provisioning of cloud and Databricks infrastructure.\nEfficient onboarding of Data Engineering, Data Science, and MLOps teams.\nSecure, auditable, least-privilege access across AWS, Azure, and Databricks.\nStable and well-governed DEV, QA, and PROD environments.\nReduced infrastructure and platform-related blockers for engineering teams.\nIncreased automation of provisioning and access-management processes.\nStrong adherence to networking, security, governance, and compliance standards.\nImproved visibility and control over cloud and Databricks costs.\nWell-documented infrastructure and operational procedures.\nA platform that enables engineering teams to build and ship without unnecessary infrastructure friction.\nRequirements\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\n3-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud administration, or a closely related role.\nHands-on experience working with both AWS and Microsoft Azure, including:\nIAM and role provisioning\nCloud networking\nStorage services\nCompute and platform resources\nHands-on experience administering Databricks, including:\nWorkspace provisioning and configuration\nUnity Catalog\nCatalogs and schemas\nMetastores\nCluster policies\nWorkspace and data-access controls\nWorking knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, with Terraform preferred. Experience with Azure ARM/Bicep or AWS CloudFormation is also valuable.\nStrong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, including:\nRBAC\nLeast-privilege access\nService
