The platform brings together three capabilities that have never previously lived in one place at Irth:\nA governed, cross-product data platform built on Databricks and Azure.\nAn AI-powered ingestion layer that normalizes, repairs, and enriches customer data without services-heavy onboarding.\nA reusable analytical layer that runs industry-standard, Irth-developed, and customer-built risk models against that data.\nWe are hiring a Risk Model Engineer to own the transmission risk models within this analytical layer.\nOperators already run our probabilistic threat models in production inside the application. In this role, you will translate those models to the new platform, extend coverage across the transmission threat set, and build Irth’s own model library alongside our existing model suite.\nYour work will produce risk outputs that pipeline operators need to understand, defend, and stand behind with regulators. The role spans physics-based probabilistic models and machine learning, feeding reliability calculations that remain explainable and defensible.\nYou will own the model content: what it computes, why it computes it, and the evidence that demonstrates it is correct.\nProductionization-including serving, pipelines, deployment, and monitoring infrastructure-is owned by dedicated ML Ops and data engineering teams that you will work with closely every day.\nKey Responsibilities\nModel Migration & Integration\nMigrate existing probabilistic model code to the risk management platform and validate results against the current implementation.\nIntegrate model inputs from diverse datasets sourced across Irth’s product offerings.\nModel Development\nExtend threat coverage across domains including:\nCorrosion\nCracking\nThird-party damage\nOutside forces\nOther transmission pipeline threats\nDesign and build time-series, anomaly detection, and geospatial models applied to inspection, sensor, and maintenance data.\nImplement industry-standard probabilist\nRequirements\nSkills We’re Hiring For\nWe’re hiring for the capabilities below, but we do not expect a single candidate to have all of them. Deep expertise in one or more areas, combined with the ability to learn and collaborate across the others, is what matters.\nExperience building or validating quantitative risk, reliability, or failure models for physical infrastructure. Pipeline experience is ideal; experience with rail, structural, water, electric, or other utility assets transfers well.\nFamiliarity with pipeline integrity standards and regulations, such as ASME B31.8S, 49 CFR 192, CSA Z662, or equivalent frameworks.\nExperience with fitness-for-service and remaining-strength assessment, corrosion growth modeling, or fracture mechanics.\nExperience working with inline inspection (ILI) data, including vendor formats, data alignment, anomaly classification, and feature disposition.\nExperience with Monte Carlo simulation, structural reliability, and uncertainty quantification.\nExperience applying machine learning to physical asset data, including time-series, survival, anomaly detection, and classification models trained and validated against sparse or imbalanced events.\nExperience with consequence-area and class-location analysis.\nGeospatial analysis experience, including tools and technologies such as ArcGIS, PostGIS, or linear referencing.\nExperience producing model validation evidence suitable for regulatory, audit, customer, or other formal review.\nStrong software engineering practices, including testing, code review, reproducibility, and disciplined use of AI-assisted development tools.\nSuccess Metrics\nYou’ll know you’re succeeding when:\nExisting models are running on the new platform with validated parity against the current implementation.\nNew threat models take advantage of the integration of Irth datasets to produce meaningful analytical capabilities.\nCustomer-built models are successfully implemented, validated, and supported on the platform.\nValidation evidence stands up to design-partner and regulatory review, with every model output reproducible and traceable.\nYou collaborate effectively with data engineering, ML Ops, data science, and subject-matter experts to move models from concept through validated implementation.\nLocation: Remote within the US or Canada\nBenefits\nBenefits\nCompetitive Salary - A competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.\nMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance - Comprehensive insurance coverage to support you and your family.\n 401(k) Plan with Company Match.\n Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) - Time off to support work-life balance and personal needs.\nCompany-Paid Holidays - Paid holidays throughout the year.\nFlexible Work Options - Work-from-home opportunities are available, depending on role and business needs.\n On-Call Compensation - Additional pay for eligible on-call shifts.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5116,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Flexible schedule","Insurance coverage","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"},{"name":"Canada","iso":"CA","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Low-Code & No-Code Platforms","Field Service Management Software"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-09T17:47:55Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":50,"reasons":["conf:3","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-12T06:55:09Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/irth-solutions-timp-model-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/irth-solutions-timp-model-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-13T03:27:21Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":5454,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-14T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":7550},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=7550"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Firth-solutions-timp-model-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Firth-solutions-timp-model-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Firth-solutions-timp-model-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/irth-solutions-timp-model-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Firth-solutions-timp-model-engineer"}]}
