You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, review supplier documentation, record objective evidence, and support reliable conformity decisions throughout incoming and final inspection.\nThis role is critical to protecting product quality and production continuity. You will work closely with Incoming Inspection, Production, Metrology, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Assurance to identify non-conformances, improve inspection methods, and ensure only compliant hardware progresses through the manufacturing flow.\nYour Role in Our Space Mission: \nPerform incoming and final inspections of parts, materials, assemblies, and associated documentation against approved drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.\nConduct dimensional inspections using hand gauges, measurement equipment, microscopes, and coordinate measurement systems as applicable.\nPerform visual and workmanship inspections, including verification of surface condition, coating, cleaning, marking, damage, and assembly quality.\nReview certificates of conformity, inspection reports, material certificates, and other supplier quality documentation for completeness and compliance.\nRecord inspection results and maintain accurate, traceable quality and product acceptance documentation.\nIdentify, segregate, and report non-conforming products and support technical clarification, containment, and disposition activities.\nCreate and improve inspection checklists, measurement plans, and inspection instructions for incoming and final inspection.\nDevelop and optimize measurement programs using applicable metrology software and equipment.\nSupport supplier quality requests, source-related investigations, and supplier qualification activities with inspection evidence and technical input.\nCollaborate with Production, Engineering, Metrology, and Quality teams to resolve inspection issues and improve product conformity.\nEnsure inspection and measurement equipment is used correctly and remains within valid calibration status.\nContribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and quality-at-source initiatives across manufacturing operations.\nQualification Checklist \n\nCompleted technical vocational training in quality inspection, machining, mechanics, mechatronics, metrology, or a comparable technical discipline.\nPractical experience in quality inspection, incoming inspection, final inspection, metrology, or manufacturing quality within a technical production environment.\nAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, specifications, and inspection requirements.\nHands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, microscopes, and other dimensional inspection equipment.\nExperience with coordinate measurement systems and metrology software such as PolyWorks, ZEISS CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, or equivalent is advantageous.\nKnowledge of measurement uncertainty, calibration principles, traceability, and controlled inspection documentation.\nAUKOM Level 1 or comparable metrology qualification is advantageous.\nExperience inspecting aerospace, precision-machined, propulsion, valve, composite, or other safety-critical hardware is beneficial.\nStructured, analytical, and detail-oriented approach with the confidence to make objective conformity decisions based on technical evidence.\nStrong teamwork, initiative, independence, and self-organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nProfessional proficiency in English; German language skills are advantageous.\nWillingness to travel occasionally for supplier or company-related inspection activities.\nAim high, deliver relentlessly, act with integrity, and keep the mission first.\nBenefits \nEmployee Participation Program: Share in our success through our virtual company share program\n30 days of vacation: Enjoy the days off to relax and recharge \nCompany pension plan: Secure your future with our company pension plan, featuring a 20% employer contribution after the probation period\nSubsidised lunch: Stay energised with delicious, subsidised lunches every day\nRental clothing with laundry service: Enjoy hassle-free workwear with our convenient rental clothing and laundry service \n Sport Clubs membership: Stay fit with our sponsored sports club memberships (EGYM Wellpass)\nIndividual learning allowance: Grow your skills with an individual learning budget granted after the probation period\nChildcare allowance: Receive a childcare allowance for your non-school-age children\nFlexible mobility budget: Travel your way with a choice between a fully financed Deutschlandticket, JobRad bicycle leasing, FINN JobAuto, or a fuel allowance\nAnd Much More!
