Learn more.\nPosition SummaryThe Sr. Instructional Designer (Sr. ID) will work with the ISC2 Education team, subject matter experts, external vendors, and member volunteers to develop. purposeful and quality learning experiences and materials. The Sr. ID is primarily responsible for the design of instructional content for all deliverables; working with content team members to influence the creation of information to be taught and organized into logical, instructional patterns that are appropriate for the culture and level of expertise of the learners. Responsible for delivering learning solutions at the highest level of complexity which includes high profile strategic initiatives and online and in-person education for cybersecurity professionals.\n**This position is not available to residents of California**.\nResponsibilities\nDrives innovative learning design approaches utilizing effective instructional design strategies and adult learning principles to facilitate the design, development and production of experiences that best serve the learning needs and preferences of the defined audience(s).\n\nInfluences the creation of course statements and analysis documents that communicate the scope of work for learning projects.\n\nManages subject matter experts and third-party providers to support the development of a variety of interactive and innovative learning solutions that are high quality, personalized, streamlined, and targeted, on time and on budget, that align with the overarching enterprise learning and assessment strategy.\n\nCollaborates with the multimedia and other development teams to develop and deliver highly engaging and interactive learning assets that reflect best practices in learner and user experience and adult learning theory.\n\nLeads and collaborates with team members, SME’s, instructors, and other relevant stakeholders to evaluate learning and ensure updates or revisions are implemented in accordance with instructional design best practices and current learning preferences.\n\nAides team professional development on technology-specific and instructional design best practices and modern learning preferences.\n\nResearches and identifies internal and external resources for instructional material development and learner materials.\n\nReviews and revises course content designs accordingly to promote and ensure quality experiences.\n\nRemains knowledgeable and proficient in best practices, strategies, tools, and current preferences in curriculum and learning design and development.\n\nPerforms miscellaneous duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nAbility to lead and mentor others.\n\nProficient knowledge of Learning Management Systems (D2L preferred).\n\nExceptional proficiency/ability to work with subject matter experts to guide online course asset development and standards alignment.\n\nAbility to use advanced adult learning and instructional design principles to create effective distance-learning courses.\n\nAbility to persuade colleagues to encourage innovation.\n\nA strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and proven commitment to quality.\n\nAbility to independently follow through to successful completion of projects within a deadline.\n\nAbility and desire to continuously learn and apply new innovations in adult learning.\n\nPassionate about making learning invigorating and empowering experience.\n\nIntermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.\n\nAbility to demonstrate and support the 5 Company Core Values: Integrity, Advocacy, Commitment, Diversity, Inclusion, and Excellence.\n\nAbility to apply effective leadership and mentoring techniques.\n\nAbility to guide and influence others.\n\nEffective communication and presentation skills.\n\nAbility and willingness to work professionally with teammates, partners, subject matter experts, clients, and other departments.\n\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\n\nAbility to independently follow through to successful completion of projects with great emphasis on detail and meeting aggressive deadlines.\n\nEducation and Work Experience\nBachelor’s Degree preferably in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Online Learning, or a related IT field; Master’s Degree preferred.\n\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in curriculum and learning design, development, and delivery.\n\nExperience with assessment development and/or standards alignment preferred.\n\nExperience working with AI tools or a demonstrated willingness to learn.\n\nExperience in the association industry, a plus.\n\nPhysical and Mental Demands\nWork normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.\n\nUp to 10% travel required.\n\nRemain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.\n\nRegular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens.\n\nOccasionally, approximately 5-10% of the time, transport and/or lift up to 25 lbs. of equipment or packages, which may also involve squatting, bending, or kneeling.\n\nTotal RewardsThe pay range for this position is $86,600 - $97,987/Yr.\nFinal pay is based on several factors including but not limited to internal equity, market data, and the applicant’s education, work experience, certifications, etc.\nInformation regarding our comprehensive benefits package is available here.\nThis position will be posted for a minimum of 5 calendar days.
