While networking and relationship building are always encouraged, this role is designed to maximize your time helping customers and closing business, not chasing cold leads.\nThe Surety Renewal Agent is a high-volume, production-focused role responsible for retaining and renewing an established book of contractor and surety bond customers.\nYou do not need previous surety experience to be successful in this position. CCIS provides product-specific training and licensing support. We are looking for someone who communicates well, learns quickly, enjoys working with customers, and is motivated by measurable production goals and earning potential.\nYou will manage upcoming bond renewals, communicate with existing customers, collect required information and payments, assist customers through the renewal process, and identify opportunities to expand their relationship with CCIS.\nAlthough surety will be your primary product specialization, you will be part of the broader CCIS Renewal team and will communicate with customers regarding renewals across multiple product lines as business needs dictate. Our dedicated Service team handles most major ongoing account servicing, allowing Renewal Agents to remain focused on customer retention, account management, and production.\nThis position begins fully onsite in our Sacramento office. Following successful completion of the probationary period, employees are eligible for a hybrid schedule with one work-from-home day per week.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nManage a high-volume pipeline of upcoming surety and contractor bond renewals\nProactively communicate with existing customers regarding upcoming renewals, pricing, requirements, and payment\nReview customer and bond information to determine what is needed to complete the renewal\nPrepare and process bond renewals accurately and efficiently\nCollect renewal payments and complete required renewal transactions\nWork with surety carrier partners when additional information or underwriting review is required\nFollow up consistently with customers who have not completed their renewal\nIdentify and address obstacles that could prevent a customer from renewing\nFocus on retaining existing customers and meeting defined renewal production goals\nIdentify opportunities for customers who may also need General Liability insurance, Workers' Compensation insurance, or additional surety products\nAssist customers with renewal-related questions across CCIS product lines as part of the broader Renewal team\nMaintain accurate customer, bond, renewal, payment, and activity records within CCIS systems\nCoordinate with the Service team when a customer requires assistance outside the normal renewal process\nManage daily and monthly renewal workflows while maintaining timely customer follow-up\nMeet and exceed defined retention, production, activity, and other performance objectives\nContribute to improvements in renewal workflows, technology, and the overall customer experience\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nPrevious surety experience is a bonus but not required; product-specific training will be provided\nInsurance, sales, account management, customer retention, financial services, or high-volume customer-facing experience \nActive California Property and Casualty license preferred; candidates without an active license must be willing and able to obtain one, with licensing support provided by CCIS\nStrong customer communication and relationship-building skills\nSales and retention mindset with motivation to work toward measurable production goals\nAbility to comfortably manage a high volume of customer interactions and transactions\nStrong organizational and follow-up skills\nAbility to prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAttention to detail and commitment to accurate transaction processing\nAbility and willingness to learn new insurance products, underwriting concepts, and technology\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products\nAbility to work onsite in Sacramento during the initial probationary period\nThis role also offers bonus pay. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience.
