The Designer works alongside a multidisciplinary team Engineers and other Designers, using CAD and other design tools to create and capture design information. The designer is responsible for maintaining proper documentation and configuration control of the design.\nResponsibilities\nDetailed design of mechanical components and systems.\nGeneration of detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and related design documentation.\nUtilize CAD tools for modeling and drawing.\nManage documentation releases including product configuration control.\nSelect materials, parts, and vendors for use in a design.\nSupport the design, build and test of mechanical components and sub-assemblies.\nCreate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and allocate GTI part numbers in the MRP system (Sage).\nSupport company ECR process and corrective actions for quality issues.\nCreate or update production documentation with the operations team.\nQualifications\nDiploma in Engineering Technology or a related field. \nAt least 6 years of experience in engineering technology and design.\nExperience with CAD software including SolidWorks.\nExperience in reading engineering documentation and BOMs.\nPractical design testing experience.\nCompetent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook\nPassionate about build and test and producing a quality product\nGood teamwork and communication skills\nCore Competencies\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.\nEffective and professional communication skills.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to plan and prioritize, organization and demonstrate time management skills.\nGoal and result-oriented.\nTransferable Skills\nExperience supporting projects, tracking deliverables, and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders.\nCreation of clear reports, procedures, work instructions, or technical documentation.\nSupport with testing activities, analyzing results, and documenting findings.\nSecurity Requirements\nAll candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.\nAbout Us\nGeoSpectrum Technologies was founded in 1994 by friends who wanted to work together and build a collaborative workplace where employees take pride in contributing to cutting-edge technology from concept to delivery.
