Development Engineer will support the design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, and fielding of electronic hardware systems and assemblies in support of United States Navy undersea warfare and sensor system programs.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and document electronic circuit boards, electro-mechanical assemblies, acoustic devices, and associated hardware systems in accordance with Technical Instructions (TIs), Government Furnished Information (GFI), and applicable Government-approved designs and plans.\n\nDevelop engineering drawings, technical data packages, design documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), schematics, and configuration management artifacts required to support hardware development activities.\n\nPerform schematic capture, component selection, printed circuit board (PCB) layout support, and related hardware design activities for prototype and production hardware systems.\n\nSupport configuration management processes by maintaining drawing packages, engineering change documentation, revision control, and hardware baselines.\n\nProcure, fabricate, and assemble electronic hardware systems, subsystems, components, and test articles utilizing Government-provided laboratory facilities and equipment.\n\nCoordinate procurement of materials, parts, components, and subassemblies required to support hardware development efforts in accordance with project requirements.\n\nFabricate, assemble, and integrate hardware systems and assemblies using approved engineering documentation, manufacturing instructions, and work procedures.\n\nDevelop detailed fabrication, assembly, integration, and test procedures to support hardware lifecycle activities.\n\nConduct functional testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, verification, and validation of hardware systems, subsystems, and assemblies in accordance with approved specifications and test procedures.\n\nIntegrate embedded software, firmware, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software, and Contractor-developed software into hardware platforms and support hardware/software interoperability testing.\n\nPerform laboratory integration and system-level testing of hardware components, assemblies, and software applications to verify compliance with design requirements.\n\nAnalyze test results, identify root causes of hardware and software integration issues, and develop corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.\n\nMaintain and audit hardware travelers, manufacturing records, test documentation, and engineering records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with program requirements.\n\nSupport developmental, qualification, laboratory, pier-side, and at-sea testing activities.\n\nPrepare engineering reports, test reports, trip reports, technical memoranda, and associated program documentation.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, engineering working groups, and customer briefings.\n\nSupport field installation, deployment, troubleshooting, and operational testing of developed systems upon Government approval.\n\nTravel as required to Government laboratories, test facilities, fleet locations, shipyards, and operational sites in support of system integration, testing, installation, and fielding activities.\n\nRequired Technical Functions\nElectronic hardware design and development\nPrototype and production support\nLaboratory and at-sea test support\nDeliverables Supported\nThe Hardware Development Engineer will contribute to the development and delivery of:\nDevelopmental Drawings \nDesign Documentation \nTest Reports \nTrip Reports \nDesired Background\nElectrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology degree.\nExperience with schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout.\nExperience with hardware fabrication, assembly, and testing.\nExperience supporting hardware/software integration and system test activities.\nFamiliarity with Navy, DoD, or defense acquisition programs.\nExperience supporting laboratory, waterfront, shipboard, or at-sea testing environments.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.\nMinimum three (3) years of experience in schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout.\nExperience with hardware testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).\nDesired Experience:\nSix (6) or more years of experience working with DMEA-accredited fabrication houses.\nFour (4) years of documented, specialized engineering experience in thermal management, signal integrity, and undersea sensor systems.\nSecurity Clearance: Requires U.S.
