Our challenging CubeSat and NanoSat missions are used for a wide variety of purposes, for example testing out new technologies in space, atmospheric and climate monitoring, and signal intelligence.\nAs Embedded Software Engineer you will join the Mission Solutions & Engineering team and are made responsible for contributing to the design, development, and verification of (flight) software for our nanosatellite mission projects. You support the entire life cycle of our projects, from preparing proposals, deriving subsystem-requirements, delivery of the software to internal or external customers, and supporting in-orbit operations. In this role, you will work closely together with the various disciplines within the company such as the Project Managers, Systems Engineers, System Assembly Integration and Test Engineers, and others. In addition, you act as a versatile engineer that can support projects where and when needed.\n\nYour main responsibilities:\nDesign, development, and verification of the CDHS (Command and Data Handling System) flight software for nanosatellites.\n\nWriting technical documentation such as requirements specification, test procedures, software, and system documentation.\n\nRequirements\nDegree in Aerospace Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Embedded Systems, or equivalent.\n\n+6 years of working experience in embedded flight software development for spacecrafts, or equivalent.\n\nThorough knowledge of C programming language.\n\nExperience or affinity with software process management and improvements.\n\nExperience with data-interface standards: I2C, UART, SPI, CAN bus.\n\nExperience with satellites.\n\nExperience with FreeRTOS.\n\nExperience with Git and Gitlab.\n\nExperience with microcontrollers and associated IDEs.\n\nAbility to work independently and flexible.\n\nSolid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.\n\nEnergetic team player with a positive and open mindset.\n\nExcellent and straightforward communication skills (with proficiency in English).\n\nA great sense of responsibility and commitment.\n\nA strategic and analytical mind.\n\nBonus points if you bring:\nExperience with leading a (SW) team.\n\nExperience with security protocols and implementation relevant for spacecraft.\n\nExperience with Python, and C/C++.\n\nExperience in working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes.\n\nExperience or affinity with test-driven development.\n\nFamiliarity with embedded Linux development.\n\nExperience with software testing practices.\n\nWhy should you join us?\nWe bring together a team of dedicated people from all over the world that are fun and pleasant to work with.
