You will become the company's domain expert in this field: building best practices, selecting tools, improving automation, and ensuring our systems remain available, observable, maintainable, and secure. Working closely with both the software engineering and IT teams, you will shape how software is deployed and operated across our development and production environments.\nSpecific tasks and responsibilities include\nDevelop and introduce tooling, processes, and alerting solutions that improve the speed, reliability, and maintainability of our software-both applications and infrastructure.\n\nEvaluate, maintain, and improve the infrastructure our software runs on.\n\nSupport other software engineers with deployment pipelines, automation, and operational best practices.\n\nEnsure continuous satellite operations by safeguarding the availability of our infrastructure, servers, and networks.\n\nTroubleshoot issues across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.\n\nCollaborate with the IT team on integrating infrastructure services-certificates, identity providers, cloud services, and virtualization platforms-and on managing server resources and operational security to support current and future application needs.\n\nHelp shape long-term operational ground software practices, ensuring the organization's future operability.\n\nRequirements\nJob requirements\n3-6 years of practical experience in IT infrastructure, platform engineering, systems engineering, or IT operations.\n\nExperience managing infrastructure in on-premise and/or hybrid environments, including virtualization.\n\nHands-on experience with containerized workloads (Docker or similar).\n\nExperience with version control (Git, self-hosted GitLab) and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.\n\nExperience implementing monitoring, observability, or operational automation solutions.\n\nComfortable making technical decisions and introducing new tools and processes where appropriate.\n\nStrong ownership mindset: independently investigates and solves unfamiliar technical challenges.\n\nThrives in a small team with broad responsibilities and high autonomy; communicates well across software and IT disciplines.\n\nNice to haves\nContainer orchestration (Docker Compose, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).\n\nWeb servers and reverse proxies (nginx, Apache, Traefik, Caddy).\n\nMessage brokers (Kafka, Redpanda, RabbitMQ).\n\nMonitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana Loki, OpenTelemetry).\n\nIdentity and access management.\n\nInfrastructure-as-code and configuration management.\n\nExperience in the space industry, satellite operations, ground segment, or other mission-critical/high-availability environments.\n\nIntroducing DevOps practices in a scaling organization;
