The role involves defining API strategies, API-led architecture, governance frameworks, security standards, lifecycle management practices, and providing technical leadership for enterprise digital transformation initiatives.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\n- Define enterprise API management architecture using Apigee.\n\n- Design scalable, secure, and reusable API solutions and API ecosystems.\n\n- Develop API strategy, governance models, lifecycle management practices, and implementation roadmaps.\n\n- Design and configure Apigee API Proxies, Products, Developers, Apps, Portals, Policies, and Flows.\n\n- Implement REST APIs, SOAP services, microservices, and backend integrations.\n\n- Define API security standards using OAuth, JWT, TLS, API Keys, and policies.\n\n- Design API gateway patterns, traffic management, caching, throttling, and rate limiting strategies.\n\n- Establish API governance standards and conduct API design reviews.\n\n- Ensure APIs meet enterprise requirements for security, performance, scalability, and compliance.\n\n- Design hybrid and cloud API management solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.\n\n- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, architecture guidance, and solution reviews.\n\n- Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers, business teams, and delivery stakeholders.\n\n- Support production issues, API monitoring, troubleshooting, and platform optimization.\n\n- Drive Agile delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and reusable API frameworks.\n\nLeadership Responsibilities :\n\n- Lead and mentor Apigee development and API engineering teams.\n\n- Define API architecture standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.\n\n- Conduct API governance reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.\n\n- Participate in architecture councils and technology decision-making.\n\n- Support solution proposals, estimations, customer discussions, and technical presentations.\n\nRequired Experience :\n\n- 12+ years of enterprise integration and API management experience with strong Apigee architecture experience.\n\n- Extensive experience designing enterprise API platforms using Apigee Edge / Apigee X.\n\n- Strong understanding of API-led connectivity, API lifecycle management, and API governance.\n\n- Experience delivering large-scale API transformation and digital initiatives.\n\n- Proven experience in architecture governance, technical leadership, and stakeholder management.\n\n- Strong knowledge of API security, scalability, performance, and operational best practices.\n\nEducation :\n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n\nRole Impact :\n\nThe Apigee Architect will drive enterprise API transformation initiatives by designing secure, scalable, and reusable API management solutions.
