Automation Tester

We are seeking an experienced SAP Test Manager to lead the testing strategy and delivery for a large-scale SAP transformation programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and governing all testing activities across multiple workstreams, ensuring the successful delivery of SAP solutions through robust quality assurance and defect management.

Working closely with business stakeholders, system integrators and technical teams, the SAP Test Manager will establish testing best practices, oversee execution across the programme lifecycle and ensure business readiness ahead of deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and own the overall SAP testing strategy and test approach for the programme.
• Manage all phases of testing including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, Performance Testing and Dress Rehearsals.
• Produce and maintain detailed test plans, schedules and resource plans.
• Coordinate testing activities across functional, technical and third-party delivery teams.
• Manage defect triage, prioritisation and resolution with development teams.
• Track testing progress through KPIs, dashboards and executive reporting.
• Ensure full traceability between business requirements, test scenarios and test execution.
• Lead testing governance meetings and provide regular status updates to programme leadership.
• Support business users throughout UAT and coordinate business sign-off.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, tools and quality standards.
• Manage testing risks and issues, escalating where appropriate.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 8+ years’ experience delivering SAP testing within large enterprise environments.
• Proven experience leading testing on SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA implementation programmes.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end SAP business processes.
• Experience managing large distributed testing teams across multiple workstreams.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM or similar test management tools.
• Experience using test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of defect management using Jira, Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms.
• Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities within complex transformation programmes.

Desirable Experience

• SAP Activate methodology.
• Experience supporting cloud-based SAP implementations.
• Knowledge of SAP Fiori and SAP BTP environments.
• Experience within highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Utilities, Life Sciences or Public Sector.
• ISTQB Test Manager or equivalent testing certification.
• PRINCE2, Agile or PMP certification.

• Experience working for a major consultancy, systems integrator or large enterprise organisation.
• Proven success delivering testing across complex SAP programmes involving multiple vendors and business functions.
