As the firm grows, it remains focused on fostering an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and motivated to deliver high-quality work.\nThe Role\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality audit engagements and will be responsible for:\nActing as engagement in-charge on audit assignments, overseeing junior staff to ensure work is performed in line with the firm’s audit methodology and quality standards\n\nPlanning and coordinating audit engagements with management and audit teams, ensuring compliance with professional standards and appropriate risk assessment\n\nMonitoring engagement progress against plans and making adjustments where necessary to ensure timely completion\n\nBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary day-to-day contact and assessing client satisfaction\n\nEnsuring high audit quality by leading by example and enforcing audit quality standards within the team\n\nReviewing audit work and financial statements, including those of smaller entities within group audits\n\nProactively managing billing, collections, and professional liability considerations\n\nLeveraging audit technology tools and firm-standard software to enhance efficiency and engagement delivery\n\nPreparing high-quality client correspondence and ensuring clear communication within engagement teams\n\nCreating an efficient, innovative, and collaborative team environment\n\nManaging, motivating, coaching, appraising, and identifying training needs of team members\n\nDelegating effectively, monitoring progress, and obtaining ongoing feedback from both team members and clients\n\nDemonstrating strong project and time management skills across multiple concurrent engagements\n\nDeveloping an understanding of client industries and identifying value-added recommendations\n\nEscalating ethical, independence, and conflict-of-interest matters to senior leadership as required\n\nMaintaining an understanding of the firm’s service lines and contributing to identifying opportunities to apply firm expertise\n\nTaking ownership of engagement deliverables and performing other duties within the scope of the role and skill set\n\nCandidate Profile\nThe ideal candidate will have:\nA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline\n\nFull qualification with a recognised professional accounting body such as ACCA, ACA/CA, CPA, or equivalent\n\nHolding, or being eligible to obtain, a Maltese Auditor’s Warrant / Practising Certificate is considered a strong advantage\n\nBetween four and five years’ experience in an external audit environment, with progressive responsibility\n\nProven experience managing audit engagements from planning through to completion and reporting\n\nDemonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of audit teams\n\nExcellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and sound professional judgement\n\nThe ability to manage multiple engagements and meet strict deadlines\n\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships\n\nFluency in English\n\nWhat Our Client Offers\nOur client provides an environment where professionals can build long-term careers through meaningful work, responsibility, and ongoing development.\nThe role offers exposure to a diverse client portfolio, collaboration within an international network, and development through structured learning combined with hands-on experience.
