The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in financial operations, spend analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with practical expertise in AI-driven workflow automation and a proven track record of delivering actionable financial insights to directors and senior leadership.\nLocation: Hybrid - Sunnyvale, CA (3 days per week onsite).\nDuration: 12 months\nPay Rate: $60 - $65 per hour.\nWe provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401(k) plan, paid holidays, and more.\nPlease note that we are only considering direct W2 candidates at this time, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.\nResponsibilities\nSupport quarterly and annual budget planning and forecasting cycles by guiding engineering teams through processes, resolving inquiries, and ensuring timely submissions.\nAnalyze budget, forecast, and actual spend data to identify variances, explain underlying drivers, and recommend opportunities to optimize spending.\nAudit budget and forecast submissions to ensure financial data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across engineering teams.\nManage monthly accrual cycles by collecting and validating accruals against open purchase order balances and goods or services received, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.\nDevelop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards covering budget status, forecasts, commitments, vendors, purchase orders, and financial performance for leadership.\nBuild and implement reusable AI agents, prompt-based assistants, and workflow automation solutions to streamline recurring financial analysis, reporting, and business processes.\nPartner with budget owners, engineering teams, Procurement, Sourcing Managers, Accounts Payable, and program management to resolve spend-related questions, present insights to directors and senior leaders, track action items, and drive issues to closure.\nInternal Responsibilities\nAttend regular internal practice community meetings.\nCollaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.\nComplete client case studies and learning material, including blogs and media material.\nBuild out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.\nAttend internal itD networking events, both in person and virtually.\nWork with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.\nRequired Qualifications and Skills\n5+ years of hands-on experience in spend tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and capacity or resource analysis.\nPractical experience with prompt engineering, AI agent development, or workflow automation to improve business processes.\nAdvanced spreadsheet skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and large-workbook modeling.\nExperience analyzing financial data, identifying spend and forecast variances, and developing actionable recommendations.\nExperience building dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent BI tools.\nDemonstrated ability to create and present financial reports and insights to directors and senior leadership, including non-finance stakeholders.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain financial findings clearly and concisely.\nAbility to work autonomously in ambiguous environments, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and proactively follow up on outstanding actions.\nAbility to handle confidential budget, vendor, and headcount information with discretion.\nPreferred Qualifications and Skills\nExperience supporting engineering, hardware, R&D, manufacturing, or consumer electronics organizations.\nExperience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and product development lifecycle milestones.\nPrevious experience at major technology or product companies such as Apple, Google, or Microsoft.\nExperience implementing process improvements, change management initiatives, and new business workflows.\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.\nRelevant professional experience or certifications in data analytics, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, SQL, or cloud-based data analytics.\nEducation\nA bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is preferred but not required.
