As a Senior Java Backend Developer - Cloud and Microservices Expertise, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art messaging solutions to enhance customer engagement. Your expertise will drive the design and development of distributed systems, supporting the modernization and standardization of critical messaging platforms. Your main responsibilities:

• Applying your technical expertise to develop high-quality applications/systems in line with requirements and standards.
• Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary, Agile product team to design and build distributed microservices using modern technology stacks.
• Defining and maintaining technical quality standards across platforms.
• Building strong decision-making and problem-solving skills within your area of expertise.
• Producing efficient, maintainable code that aligns with business needs and technical dependencies.
• Conducting thorough unit testing to ensure software performance and reliability.
• Challenging code and design quality to uphold industry standards and project excellence.
• Contributing to automation test coverage and quality assurance processes.
• Maintaining effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
• Promoting innovative technologies and mentoring engineering colleagues.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum of 5 years' senior experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience working with Cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, and Groovy.
• Expertise in API design standards: Swagger, OpenAPI 3.0, REST, JSON, Microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization via OAuth 2.0, with experience using Kong API Gateway.
• Familiarity with Agile testing methodologies, particularly TDD, and extensive Agile/Scrum development experience.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving capability with a focus on innovative, scalable solutions.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with additional cloud services or certifications.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices beyond the core technologies listed.

• English - Communicative proficiency essential for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
