Ours has a fast-growing reputation with a wealth of experience and a team of resourceful professionals with combined work experience that cuts across the energy, oil and gas, finance, ICT, and real estate sectors of the economy.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Spread QA/QC Engineer \n\nLocation: Abuja (FCT) \n\nResponsibilities\n\nEducate workers on the required standards.\nInspect completed work and / or work in progress to determine whether the work meets specifications and plan requirements.\nWork with Spread Manager / Construction Manager to identify approaches and methods to improve overall quality.\nInterpret and review shop drawings.\nAwareness of the Nigeria Health and Safety Management System\nMonitor the disposition of all issued non-conformance reports.\nAssure all technical documents relating to site quality control are approved for construction.\nReview the Owner’s specification and undertake relevant training to the site QC inspector.\nCoordinate with the Owner’s representative on all quality matters.\nImplement the QA / QC management system on site.\nParticipate in the site internal and external site audits.\nReview contractor's personnel qualification (e.g. Non-Destructive Testing, Welders, Destructive Testing, Painting, Insulation, Refractory) prior to and during the construction activities.\nDistribute relevant QA / QC documentation to site the EPC Contractors.\nEnsures that all systems are tested, operated, and handed over safely in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.\nMonitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.\nComplete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the Owner.\nCoordinate with the Quality Manager / Spread manager on all quality issues. Coordinate and chair the QA / QC site weekly meetings with the EPC Contractors QC personnel.\nMonitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements.\nResponsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting all pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities associated with gas pipeline systems, stations, pigging facilities, valve stations, utility systems, and associated equipment.\nMonitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan.\nEnsure that safety is adhered to on site.\nVerify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.\nReview work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices.\nReview the EPC Contractor's QA / QC documents (quality plans, work procedures, etc.) prior to start of construction activities.\nControl all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial actions.\nCoordinate quality inspections with the EPC Contractors, sub-contractors and vendors and also coordinate all non-destructive testing on site.\nEnsure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for as-built hand over through the QC Manager / Spread Manager.\nCoordinate all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors.\nRequired to fulfil the responsibilities of an employee as specified in company's Health and Safety Management System\nNote and report on work that does not meet requirements.\nComplete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses.\n\nTechnical/Skills/ Competency Requirements\n\nExcellent communication and reporting skills.\nMinimum 8–12 years experience in Multidiscipline QA/QC function on oil & gas projects.\nDetailed technical background and experience in welding technology, NDE, materials technology. (e.g. welding engineer, NDE level 2).\nAbility to juggle multiple activities simultaneously\nExtremely detail-oriented\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.\nConversant with API, NACE, SSPC, ISO, ASME, ASTM standards..\nWorking knowledge of construction processes\nGreat troubleshooting skills\nPC software proficiency\nKnowledge of QA / QC system requirements (e.g. acc. to ISO 9001:2008)\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability.\nAbility to work under schedule pressure and in remote site locations.\nRelevant QA/QC certifications e.g CSWIP, NACE etc…\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work in a cross-functional team environment\nTeam-oriented with strong safety leadership\nPrior experience on EPC, PMC, or Owner's Engineer projects is preferred.\nTechnical background and experience with handling of quality matters of various disciplines i.e. pipeline, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, coating, insulation, fire proving etc.\nKnowledge of national / international and project specific quality standards and regulations, design and fabrication codes i.e. ASME B 31.3., ASME IX, ASME V, API etc.\nLeadership and stakeholder management.\nExperience on large-diameter gas transmission pipelines, compressor stations, pigging facilities, metering stations, or related facilities.\nExperience with ITPs, NDE, WPS, WQT, Weld Fit-ups and Dimensional Checks\nCOREN registration or equivalent professional membership is an
