At Itential, you’ll own the product direction for the execution engine and supporting capabilities that help enterprise customers run automations, manage configurations and inventory, and connect to third-party systems. Your decisions will shape how those capabilities work together and how customers use them across on-premises and cloud environments.\nThis role combines technical depth with business ownership. You’ll join Itential’s Product Operations team as a senior individual contributor, work directly with Fortune 500 customers, partner closely with our Automation engineering team, and own strategy, roadmap priorities, and packaging decisions across your portfolio. You’ll also work with the FlowAI team to introduce AI-driven capabilities that address concrete customer problems, including automated resolution of configuration compliance issues.\nWhy This Role\nOwn consequential product decisions. Set direction for capabilities at the core of Itential’s automation platform, balancing customer needs, business value, and engineering investment.\nSolve technical problems with engineering. Work through questions about execution behavior, integrations, authentication, versioning, and upgrades, and turn those insights into a better customer experience.\nStay close to customers. Learn directly from enterprise teams, including those in regulated industries, and use that understanding to guide product priorities.\nShape practical applications of AI. Help determine where agent-based capabilities can improve automation and configuration workflows.\nWhat You Will Do\nYour portfolio includes Gateway 5, Itential’s execution engine; Gateway 4; Gateway Manager; Configuration Manager Enterprise; Inventory Manager; and Integrations. As Senior Product Manager, you will own strategy and delivery across this portfolio. This includes:\nSet product strategy and roadmap priorities, using customer evidence, business impact, and technical constraints to guide investment.\nPartner with the Automation engineering manager and team to take opportunities from discovery and definition through release.\nTurn ambiguous customer needs and complex technical questions into clear product decisions and testable requirements.\nWork directly with enterprise customers to understand their environments, evaluate requests, and address escalations.\nDefine packaging and tiering across on-premises and Itential Cloud offerings.\nPartner with FlowAI to develop AI-driven capabilities with clear customer value.\nAlign priorities with peer Product Managers and keep Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Support informed about product direction and its rationale.\nBuild data-backed proposals for investment through the operational planning process.\nRequirements\nRequirements\n7+ years of product management experience, primarily in B2B SaaS, infrastructure, or developer tools.\nA track record of owning technical products from strategy through delivery, with clear examples of decisions you made and their outcomes.\nWorking knowledge of APIs, authentication (including OAuth, certificates, and mTLS), and versioning.\nExperience working directly with large enterprise customers, including navigating escalations and competing priorities.\nExperience making pricing, packaging, or tiering decisions.\nClear writing and the ability to translate complex problems into requirements engineers can act on.\nCuriosity and a demonstrated ability to learn an unfamiliar technical domain.\nFluency with AI tools such as Claude for research, analysis, requirements, and prototyping, paired with sound judgment about checking and correcting their output.\nPreferred Qualifications\nHands-on experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform/OpenTofu.\nProducts deployed in on-premises or hybrid environments.\nNetwork automation, configuration management, or compliance.\nShipping AI or agent-based product capabilities.\nPrior experience in network automation is helpful.
