The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the security, stability, performance, and availability of our digital platforms and internal systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nCloud Infrastructure & Hosting\nManage, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure and hosting environments to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.\n\nAdminister cloud platforms such as Platform.\n\nMonitor infrastructure performance, resource utilisation, and system availability, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.\n\nManage virtual machines, storage, networking, backups, and disaster recovery processes.\n\nOversee hosting environments for websites, applications, databases, and other business-critical systems.\n\nServer & Systems Administration\nInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers.\n\nPerform routine server maintenance, operating system updates, security patching, and configuration management.\n\nManage server access, user permissions, system configurations, and authentication mechanisms.\n\nEnsure server environments are secure, scalable, and appropriately documented.\n\nDiagnose and resolve infrastructure-related incidents, minimising downtime and service disruption.\n\nNetwork Security & Firewall Management\nConfigure, manage, and maintain firewalls, VPNs, network access controls, and security policies.\n\nMonitor network traffic, investigate suspicious activity, and implement measures to protect infrastructure against potential threats.\n\nManage security groups, network access rules, IP whitelisting, and other access restrictions.\n\nConduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments, implementing remediation measures where required.\n\nWork with relevant teams and third-party providers to address security incidents and maintain infrastructure compliance.\n\nDevOps & Automation\nDevelop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure management and routine operational tasks.\n\nImplement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable application deployment and updates.\n\nSupport infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent technologies.\n\nCollaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes, system reliability, and application performance.\n\nTroubleshoot deployment failures and infrastructure issues across development, staging, and production environments.\n\nMonitoring, Backup & Disaster Recovery\nImplement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to identify performance issues and service interruptions.\n\nEnsure regular backups are performed and periodically test restoration procedures.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.\n\nInvestigate root causes of recurring incidents and implement preventive solutions.\n\nMaintain clear technical documentation covering infrastructure architecture, configurations, access controls, and operational procedures.\n\nCollaboration & Technical Support\nWork closely with developers, IT teams, digital product teams, and external technology vendors.\n\nProvide infrastructure support for websites, digital publishing platforms, content management systems, and other business-critical applications.\n\nCloud hosting provider management\n\nInfrastructure planning, capacity management, technology upgrades, and cost optimisation initiatives.\n\nRequirements & Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nHands-on experience managing cloud hosting environments.\n\nFamiliarity with scripting languages and automation tools.\n\nManage multiple priorities and respond effectively to infrastructure incidents.\n\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nRelevant cloud certifications\n\nExperience supporting high-traffic websites, digital publishing platforms, or content-heavy online environments, cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures.\n\nFamiliarity with Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nKey Competencies\nStrong technical ownership and accountability.\n\nProactive approach to infrastructure monitoring and maintenance.\n\nHigh attention to detail, particularly regarding security and system reliability.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot complex technical issues
