The role combines hands-on engineering with technical ownership, stakeholder communication, and collaboration on architecture and delivery decisions.\nKey Responsibilities\nWork with client stakeholders to understand business needs, assess existing systems, and define technical requirements.\n\nContribute to solution design, explaining technical options, trade-offs, and implementation effort.\n\nDesign, build, and maintain production ETL/ELT pipelines integrating databases, APIs, and file-based sources.\n\nDevelop data models and transformation workflows that support analytics and business processes.\n\nImplement incremental loading, data validation, error handling, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.\n\nImprove pipeline performance and manage compute and storage costs.\n\nApply data security and governance practices, including access control and protection of sensitive data.\n\nUse version control, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD to deliver maintainable solutions.\n\nCreate technical documentation and support knowledge transfer to client teams.\n\nSupport project estimation and planning, raise delivery risks, and mentor other engineers.\n\nCore Skills & Qualifications\n5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, including delivery and support of production data solutions.\n\nPractical experience with both Snowflake and Databricks.\n\nStrong SQL and Python skills, including hands-on experience with PySpark.\n\nExperience using dbt to develop, test, and maintain data transformations.\n\nExperience designing and deploying cloud data solutions, preferably on Azure.\n\nStrong data modelling skills, including dimensional modelling and an understanding of Data Vault 2.0 concepts..\n\nExperience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.\n\nAbility to investigate data quality issues and troubleshoot pipeline failures and performance problems.\n\nExperience working directly with clients or multiple stakeholder groups.\n\nAbility to work effectively in agile and startup environments, adapting to changing priorities and evolving requirements.\n\nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and make evidence-based decisions.\n\nAbility to work independently, clarify ambiguous requirements, and take ownership of delivery.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with change data capture, streaming, or event-driven processing.\n\nExperience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.\n\nExperience with AWS in addition to Azure.\n\nSnowflake or Databricks certifications.\n\nExperience mentoring engineers or leading technical delivery.\n\nFamiliarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or
