As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of innovative networked technology solutions that support our customers' evolving needs. We are aiming to have this role begin May/June 2027.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nSupport the design, development, integration, and validation of electronic hardware and embedded systems for Itron's networked solutions and product portfolio.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, firmware, software, systems, manufacturing, quality, and product management to deliver customer-centric technology solutions.\nAssist in schematic capture, component selection, circuit analysis, PCB design reviews, and prototype evaluation.\nPerform laboratory testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis of electrical and electronic systems.\nParticipate in product verification, reliability testing, regulatory compliance activities, and design validation efforts.\nAnalyze test results and communicate findings, recommendations, and technical documentation clearly and effectively.\nSupport product lifecycle activities, including sustaining engineering, design improvements, and manufacturing support.\nContribute to innovation initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve product performance, quality, reliability, and cost.\nDemonstrate an authentic, accountable, agile, collaborative, and innovative approach while working with internal and external stakeholders.\nMaintain engineering documentation, reports, specifications, and development records in accordance with company processes and quality standards.\nWork onsite at Itron’s Liberty Lake headquarters, 2-3 days per week.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\nKnowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital circuit design.\nUnderstanding of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and multimeters.\nFamiliarity with product development processes and engineering best practices.\nAbility to analyze technical problems, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse global teams.\nDemonstrated commitment to customer-centric decision making and delivering high-quality results.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, agile environment while managing multiple priorities.\nAble to work on-site 2-3 days a week at Itron’s Liberty Lake, WA headquarters.\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nInternship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience involving electronic hardware design or testing.\nExposure to embedded systems, wireless communications, networking technologies, IoT devices, or utility industry applications.\nPrefer experience using electrical CAD and simulation tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, OrCAD, LTspice, or similar platforms.\nExperience with scripting, data analysis, automation, or test development tools.\nKnowledge of utility, smart grid, metering, communications, or connected device technologies is advantageous.\nLiberty Lake, WA: $60K - $115K annual\nItron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
