Join us.\nWe are seeking an Implementation Consultant (Functional/Project Lead) to lead the functional and project management work required to successfully deploy our SaaS platform for enterprise utility customers. This role is critical to ensuring structured, well-coordinated, and repeatable implementations for customers operating critical infrastructure.\nThe Implementation Consultant serves as the functional owner of implementation workstreams, partnering closely with a dedicated Tech/Solution Consultant, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to deliver high-quality customer deployments. This role focuses on business process alignment, project coordination, and customer-facing enablement required to bring customers live - including requirements gathering, timeline management, stakeholder coordination, and functional configuration decisions (hazard/task libraries, templates, workflows, roles and permissions).\nThis is a high-impact opportunity within a growing enterprise SaaS organization supporting the Utilities & Energy sector, where operational alignment, clear communication, and reliable project delivery are essential.\nLocation: United States (Remote) with up to 50% travel\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nImplementation & Project Leadership\nLead the functional implementation workstream for enterprise customer deployments from kickoff through go-live, demonstrating accountability for delivery quality and outcomes\nOwn the project timeline, task tracking, and coordination across internal teams and customer stakeholders\nConduct discovery sessions to understand customer business processes, operational workflows, and organizational requirements\nTranslate business requirements into functional configuration plans - hazard/task libraries, templates, workflows, roles and permissions\nPartner closely with the Tech/Solution Consultant to align functional decisions with technical implementation (integrations, SSO, data migration, environment setup)\nLead regular customer checkpoints, status updates, and cross-functional alignment meetings\nTrack and document implementation activities to support transparency, knowledge sharing, and repeatability\nBusiness Process & Configuration Design\nLead business process design workshops with customer stakeholders (Safety Managers, Ops Leads, Supervisors)\nOwn configuration decisions related to forms, templates, hazard/control libraries, and workflow design\nValidate that configured workflows reflect real-world field operations and customer requirements\nPartner with SMEs to ensure the solution supports day-to-day operational needs\nTraining, Adoption & Change Support\nSupport training planning and delivery, partnering with the Comms/Change Lead on rollout strategy\nIdentify Field Champions and support their enablement ahead of Field Pilot\nGather and incorporate field feedback during Pilot and early go-live into configuration adjustments\nCommunicate new product releases and relevant feature updates to customers, helping them understand and adopt new capabilities as they become available\nTesting, Validation & Go-Live Readiness\nCoordinate UAT planning and execution from a functional/business-process perspective\nIdentify and communicate functional risks, dependencies, or blockers impacting launch readiness\nSupport go-live cutover planning and ensure clean handoff to Customer Success and Support\nScalable Implementation Practices\nIdentify recurring functional/configuration challenges and convert them into reusable templates and standard approaches\nCollaborate with Product to shape configuration tooling and platform enhancements based on field learnings\nCreate documentation or toolsets that reduces manual effort and improves implementation velocity across future deployments\nRequired Skills & Experience\n2+ years of experience in implementation consulting, project management, business analysis, or customer-facing SaaS deployment roles\nProven experience leading project or functional workstreams for enterprise software implementations\nAbility to translate customer business requirements into scalable, well-documented configuration plans\nStrong project management skills - timeline management, stakeholder coordination, risk/dependency tracking\nAbility to collaborate effectively with a technical counterpart (Tech/Solution Consultant), customer stakeholders, and internal cross-functional teams\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and build stakeholder confidence and trust\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nExperience implementing software for utility, energy, industrial, or regulated enterprise customers\nExperience deploying software to field/frontline environments (mobile applications, operational or field-based platforms) is a plus\nFamiliarity with change management or training rollout for operational teams\nBackground in business process design, workflow configuration, or configuration-heavy SaaS platforms\nExperience with reporting or dashboards using SQL and visualization tools\nPhysical Demands: No specific physical demands associated with this position.\nBenefits Info:\nThis position also includes a competitive benefit package including; financial, social, health and wellbeing programs, paid vacation, 401k matching, employee stock purchase program, hybrid work schedule, and more!\n#LI-QW1\nItron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
