This internship offers hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial operations, and process improvement initiatives.\nThe intern will gain exposure to multiple accounting and finance functions through structured training opportunities, mentorship, and participation in real-world accounting projects. The role is designed to provide broad insight into professional accounting careers while supporting key business activities and continuous improvement efforts..\nThe intern will contribute to month-end close activities, assist with reconciliations and data validation, and support initiatives focused on automating existing accounting processes. This role provides valuable exposure to corporate accounting operations and supports talent development for future recruitment.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nAssist with month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations\n Perform data validation and support documentation for audit and compliance\nParticipate in process improvement initiatives, including automation of routine accounting tasks\nCollaborate with accounting team members to identify efficiency opportunities\nSupport ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests\nDocument procedures and contribute to knowledge-sharing efforts\nDevelop an understanding of multiple accounting functions with a focus on manufacturing processes\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and completion of at least two years of college coursework\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\nBasic understanding of accounting principles\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nProfessional communication and problem-solving skills\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\nExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)\nFamiliarity with automation tools and AI use (e.g., Alteryx, MS Copilot)\nPrior internship, office, customer service, leadership, or other professional work experience.\nCoursework in financial reporting, auditing, accounting fundamentals and data analytics\nInterest in pursuing CPA certification or long-term accounting career goals.\nTravel: 0 - 10%\nPhysical Demands:\nThis is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.\nThis position is based in Liberty Lake, WA and is expected to be on-site two days per week (typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays)\nLiberty Lake, WA: $15.87 - $44.23 per hour\nItron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
