Join us.\nItron is seeking an accounting professional to support the North America (NAM) manufacturing accounting functions. Reporting to the manager responsible for these areas, this role assists with maintaining an accurate control environment, supporting SOX compliance, and applying U.S. GAAP policies and procedures. The position works collaboratively with accounting and cross-functional partners and contributes to operational excellence, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our customer-centric, innovative, and collaborative culture.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSupport the daily operations of NAM inventory and royalty accounting, including preparing general ledger entries, reconciliations, and reports.\nFollow established work direction and project guidance, communicate progress, and seek feedback to build capability and accountability.\nComplete assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities accurately and on time in alignment with the global close calendar using Oracle ERP and EPM tools.\nApply established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and corporate standards.\nMaintain accurate, well-documented accounting records and control evidence, applying sound judgment, attention to detail, and operational discipline.\nDevelop knowledge of U.S. GAAP requirements related to inventory, excesses and obsolescence, inventory costing methodologies, and royalties and communicate potential issues or impacts to the manager and relevant stakeholders.\nAs part of the annual audit process, assist with preparing quarterly audit deliverables by providing complete, accurate, and auditable documentation and responding to ad hoc requests.\nCollaborate with accounting, cross-functional teams, and external partners to support business initiatives and deliver customer-focused outcomes.\nParticipate in continuous-improvement and process-automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and support digital transformation.\nAssist with the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.\nBuild accounting knowledge and contribute to a culture of innovation, authenticity, agility, and collaboration.\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.\nConsistent commitment to ethical conduct, professional judgment, and integrity.\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal-control design.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.\nHighly collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the agility to navigate evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.\nAbility to manage multiple responsibilities while delivering high-quality, customer-centric outcomes.\nContinuous-improvement mindset with the ability to adopt new technologies and develop innovative accounting solutions that support transformation initiatives.\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\nExperience with manufacturing processes, inventory accounting (including excess and obsolescence), inventory costing methodologies, and royalty accounting.\nCPA or equivalent professional certification.\nExperience with ERP and consolidation systems, especially Oracle EBS, subledger transactions, and EPM Cloud.\nExperience with complementary financial tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate, or Noetix WebQuery.\nTravel: 0-10%\nBenefits Info:\nThis position also includes a competitive benefit package including; financial, social, health and wellbeing programs, paid vacation, 401k matching, employee stock purchase program, hybrid work schedule, and more!\nPay Transparency Info:\nLiberty Lake, WA: The base salary is $78,000 - $130,000.\nPhysical Demands:\nThis is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.\nItron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
