For ambitious builders, problem-solvers, and innovators, there has never been a more exciting time to be part of the journey.\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java to join our R&D team and play a key role in designing, building, and scaling our enterprise-grade platform.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nPlay an integral role in building our dynamic and versatile ecosystem, from technical design through development and deployment.\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based services within a microservices architecture.\n\nTake part in implementing and expanding our proprietary APIs, which are used by numerous enterprise clients.\n\nContinuously develop and improve backend services supporting our existing web and mobile applications.\n\nTake ownership of features throughout the entire software development lifecycle.\n\nCollaborate with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and architects to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.\n\nResearch and integrate cutting-edge technologies that improve the platform’s scalability, performance, and reliability.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.\n\nRequired Skills and Experience\nB.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n\n5+ years of professional software development experience using Java.\n\nExperience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.\n\nExperience developing SaaS products based on a microservices architecture.\n\nExperience working with relational databases and SQL.\n\nExperience with Docker, including containers, images, and Docker Compose.\n\nStrong understanding of software design principles, clean code, and testing.\n\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience with AWS services, particularly S3 and EC2.\n\nExperience with managed infrastructure services such as Redis, OpenSearch, and SQS.\n\nExperience with Angular or React and CSS/SCSS.\n\nExperience with Leaflet, Ionic, or Capacitor.\n\nExperience with GIS systems or geospatial data.\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based production environments.\n\nItron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
