The Buyer will be responsible for the day to day of assigned procurement of goods and services in order to achieve balanced costs, efficiencies, and service while ensuring overall product quality standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role for a manufacturing company.\nEssential Responsibilities\n Reviews the forecast, analyzes MRP/ERP reports, to purchase/allocate items, services and supplies as required to maintain/adhere to the production forecast.\nCommunicates continuously with vendors and suppliers executing contracts, reviewing quantities, price, availability, covering possible adjustments, non-conforming materials, delivery methods/problems, and sourcing of new items and/or raw materials. \nWorks closely with vendors/suppliers to implement programs to improve performance. \nPrepares purchase orders for goods and services. Communicates with requisitioners when changes or price differences occur. \nAssists with maintaining records for all vendors and assures proper documentation is on file accurately reflecting costs, sources, and associated lead times\nStudies inventories recommending remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, or excess stock.\nBack up to other buyers as assigned. \nOther duties as assigned.\nPosition Requirements\nBachelor’s Degree is required. Degree in business, supply chain management, or similar field strongly preferred.\n2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience is required\nA.P.I.C.S. certification is desirable. Additional coursework or seminars in materials management preferred.\nSelf-starter\nExcellent communication skills, and enjoy working with a diverse employee base. \nHighly proficient in the use of MRP and ERP systems (SAP preferred) as well as MS Office.
