Our leading brands includeITT Cannon, Enidine, Aerospace Controls and kSARIA.\nPosition Summary\nThe Design Engineering Supervisor - Fluid Motion Control Products is responsible for leading and supervising the design engineering functions for actuators, valves, pumps, and switch technologies at ITT Aerospace Control’s Valencia site. This role provides both technical leadership and people management, ensuring alignment with business objectives, product strategy, and engineering excellence.\nThe position plays a critical role in developing engineering talent, driving product innovation through technical roadmap execution, and ensuring adherence to established engineering processes and standards.\nEssential Responsibilities\nLeadership & People Management\nSupervise and lead a team of design engineers, providing direction, coaching, and mentorship\nDrive talent development through training, career planning, and succession planning initiatives\nConduct performance management, including goal setting, feedback, and performance evaluations\nFoster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable team environment\nTechnical Leadership & Product Development\nGuide design engineering activities for actuator, valve, pump, and switch product lines\nContribute to the development and execution of product technology roadmaps\nEnsure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost objectives\nProvide technical oversight and decision-making support across development programs\nEngineering Process & Compliance\nEnforce adherence to engineering processes, standards, and procedures\nEnsure accountability for design quality, documentation, and validation practices\nDrive continuous improvement in engineering workflows, tools, and best practice\nBusiness Support & Strategy\nSupport business development efforts including proposal development and technical input\nCollaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, project, and quality teams\nContribute to strategic planning initiatives related to product development and market growth\nProgram Execution\nEnsure design deliverables are completed on time and within scope\nIdentify and mitigate technical risks across projects\nSupport successful transition of products from development into production\nPosition Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline is required\n7+ years of engineering experience, plus a minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory experience\nProven experience in design engineering with actuation, valve, pump, or switch technologies\nExperience working within aerospace and defense industries, or other highly regulated industries\nFamiliarity with standards such as AS9100, ISO-9001, or APQP\nDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering teams\nStrong knowledge of actuators, valves, pumps, switches, or similar technologies\nExperience with product development processes, from concept through production\nExcellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills, and emotional intelligence\nExperience with leadership and team development\nDemonstrated strategic thinking and product roadmap development capabilities\nProcess discipline and continuous improvement mindset\nCross-functional collaboration and business acumen\nThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
